The new 2024 XSR900 GP pays homage to some of the most celebrated race machines from Yamaha’s illustrious past in a way never seen before in the Sports Heritage range. Combining a sense of 1980s Grand Prix nostalgia with the very latest technology including the iconic, torque-rich 890cc CP3 engine, R1-derived six-axis IMU and lean sensitive rider aids, the XSR900 GP embodies Yamaha’s Racing history without sacrificing modern day performance.

With the lower fairing and the akrapovic exhaust they now offer, my feelings towards it are indecent, to say the least
Yamaha you have done it. This is unreal. Already been to the dealer and told them to put me an order in.

It might just be a good looking actor: he seems to remember races, but if you look at the number on the bike, it’s Wayne’s. I think the scenario here is: he used to be fan and now he can achieve his dream to ride his idol’s bike. I can be wrong but he doesn’t look like Eddie Lawson.

Too late YAMAHA. I owned RD250LC for 20 years over. I love handling and engine feeling and all of them. I was waiting for machine which is no substitute with others by YAMAHA like RD series for a long time. Maybe 20 years over. I want to ride this on winding road. Then I will know YAMAHA's spilit which is no changed. Maybe I want to make sure it as one of YAMAHA's lovers.

It's a teaser. Now that the bike has everyone getting aroused (is that just me ?) Manufacturers will be tooling up for the market. Sneaky Yamaha! Look what they started with the bloody R1 years ago. All that power to weight stuff has changed forever. There will be after market lower fairings for the diehards, power pipes, a whole new segment to the aftermarket industries, part of the plan I reckon, hang on for the ride!

I believe the belly pan is an optional extra. The European release seemed to indicate.

Yep. Lower fairing already mentioned on Yamaha AU as an optional accessory, along with a side-swept Akrapovic exhaust.
