Thank you 😊 Growing the LC their own food has been a lifesaver! It also stops the dog getting on the window sill to bark at the neighbours cats so it's a double win! After filming this video and saying the tetra needs a new set up they broke free and got bloody everywhere 😅 Thanks for watching ❤️🐜🐜🐜

So nice to see all the colonys doing well ❤ em, makes me super happy to see most have done well over winter, mine have been a car crash so was nice seeing them and reminded me of other years when it wasnt to bad😊😊 everyone praise the saturn 😂😅

A two queen Lasius flavus colony with a few workers and brood. It now has a much bigger pile of brood and plenty of eggs. A Messor barbarus queen which hates being disturbed, and now has two little groups of eggs. A Camponotus queen with one worker and three larvae; it now has three pupae and eggs. The worker got very agitated when I disturbed them at first, running up and down the text tube, but now seems to have settled down and was no problem at all when I fed them the other day. I'm not sure how good a pic I can get since I only have the light from the window, but I'll try next time I check them.

I remember flavus from when I was a teenager; I made several attempts to keep ants with no success thanks to bad information. They made small mounds in grassy areas on a heath a couple of miles from where we lived, and every time I dug into a nest there were always a lot of queens present.

I have a quick question. I currently have two ant colonies (lasius flavus and pheidole pallidula) and I was wondering what species to get next. So far I have narrowed it down to either messor barbarous or acanthomyrmex Thailandensis, so I was wandering which one you would suggest?

Both are cool species, messors get much bigger and are wayyyy more active when they get going. Thailandensis and funny looking but don't grow very big at all and are not active. But the majors are hysterical. A Camponotus species Is another good option ❤️🐜🐜🐜

I feed mine ant antics sugar snaps, insects, usually mealworms or dubia roaches and some seeds, fig seeds and I offer chia seeds too. Thanks for watching ❤️🐜🐜🐜
