I looked at both but went with the Toyota you show here except it'sa silver gray. Toyota has a stronger record and the money is close. The Grand Limited feels much bigger and has the options i care about. The 3rd row feels roomier. Good audio...

I have this exact vehicle in Black. Super quiet and comfortable. No wind noise or road noise other that some tire noise on some road cracks. Slight engine noise on harder exceleration. What car do you get that there isn't some engine noise. Easily pulls a small cargo trailer. Great MPG. Great high quality all around car

Great review! Thank you! Where in East Texas are y'all? My wife and I went to grad school at SFA in Nac in the 90s (raised our family in Cedar Park/Austin - three kids now in Aggieland 👍). We love the GH hybrid A25A/eCVT powertrain. At about what lower speed range are you limited to for cruising around in EV-only mode before the 4-cyl engine kicks in to help? I wish the 360-degree and digital rearview mirror cameras were available in Limited trim level (or that Toyota allowed the non-turbo Hybrid A25A in the Platinum trim).

We are in Tyler. My wife is a Lumberjack Alum. We do an entire family review of this vehicle as well with her behind the wheel. Your kids are all Aggies after growing up in enemy territory? Gig em! Toyota’s website shows the 360° cameras as optional on Limited Hybrid models, but I can’t seem to find it when on build and price. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I agree. I think this is the best powertrain option.

The 360° cameras and panoramic sun roof are available on the GH Hybrid Limited, but the digital rearview mirror is only on the Hybrid MAX Platinum. They should sell it as an option for the Limited.

If they made a Grand Highlander Prime that would be the pick of the litter of the various variants of this platform.

Lexus tx PHEV should come out soon... but takes premium gas and lots of subscriptions on the tech

But I could see videos on limited trim with 360 camera . We need to add that as it is optional feature and Max and platinum only has it as standard. Pls confirm

The 360° cameras and panoramic sun roof are available on the GH Hybrid Limited for an additional cost in the USA. Models vary by country.

Great job with your review. Glad you compared the Lexus TX vs the Grand Highlander. There is a big price difference. Was there any significant ride quality difference between the two? What type of gas mileage did you get with this Hybrid and did you feel it had adequate power?

Toyota should fix their tank capacity so customers could fill at least 15.5 gallons in the tank!

Been having problems with fuel tank.. can only pump 12-13 gallons instead of 17.. do you have the issue?

That used to be a problem in the rav4 a couple of years ago so I'm not surprised it's happening again

2012 hybrid highlander - can leave empty 2nd row middle line - can install coffe cup holder on the middle line - can install bench seat you can do only a minute Is it coming new Highlander captain chairs models including like this modular genius opportunity?

Yes and even more: - you can leave empty not only 2nd row, but even 3rd row and even 1st row passenger seat if you don't want anyone driving with you! It's' genious! - this already comes with not just one, but 7 coffee cup holders! - you can choose not only bench seat but captains chairs too! you can not only do a minute, but you can do just several seconds or several hours if you want to drive longer! it's alreade came with modular ingenous opportunities!

Toyota supplied us with it.

I drive a hybrid and lack of power shows as the 4 cylinder characteristics shows up at cruising speeds. I get good gas mileage but my next car will definitely be a 6 cylinder.

??? Mine seems perfectly fine from start to highway speeds at 60, 70, 80 and more (Yeah a bit of a lead foot:)) Is it a bit loud under throttle, yes, but I don't drive "Under Throttle" all the time. Would I purchase another one, hell yes, if it became available in a 6 cylinder again, would I go that way, if the MPG was within 3-4… yes, but if the MPG's between Hybrid and 6 cylinder was 8, 10 MPS or more, then I'd stay with the hybrid

What a wasted opportunity, one of the few reviewers that actually put a car seat in the vehicle, failed to put it in one of the captain’s chairs so we could have a better idea of how practical/impractical it would be to access the back row if needed on a pinch… Another important thing if you could revisit a Grand Highlander with bench seat is to put one car seat on each end and have your lovely wife seat in between! I’ve watched a zillion videos of all sorts of mid-size suvs and NONE shows this important test!!! Talk about missed opportunities… Oof…

The New Grand Highlander has room for seven extra large adults. You can put a car seat in the second row or the third row room to spare. I seen a video with a guy that was 6 foot 2 inches and he had nice room in the third row !!! Also third row reclines back.

Limited and no sunroof? I'll pass!!!

Panoramic roof and 360 camera are definitely specific options on limited, as is the bench seat.

Don’t you dare ever put Toyota in the same sentence with a piece of shit car like a KIA!!!!
