I have a Model Y Standard Range I got in 2023 at 5% interest rate and now with a bit over 10k miles on it, I have to honestly say I have a love/ hate relationship with it. I love it because it's the best car I've ever driven and it gets better with every software update. It's fun as hell to drive and I can't imagine not owning a car without "autopilot" ever again. On the flipside there's always something going wrong with it that's driving me crazy, just took it through the car wash 2 days ago and the back speakers started crackling and then the bass stopped working for a day. Not to mention the auto windshield wipers have been super buggy since day 1

Yeah, I dont hate ICE vehicles. But for some reason people have to try to give me their opinion on what they think of EV's because im getting a tesla. They don't criticize Teslas but EV's as a whole. That is like saying all ice vehicles are bad because you had a bad experience with a Dodge at one point. But anyways, I have heard everything from battery, to range, to how long to charge. I keep telling people they are looking at it wrong, that you dont go to a charging station ever, you charge at home. Only time is if you are travelling and even then, they are always located near places to eat or shop. Then my dad is like, well i like to get in and get out. I am like whatever, you go in for a gallon of milk stay in there for an hour. But yeah, I have heard everything. Like they are going to discourage me? lol.

I bought my 2015 Model S 85D (loaded) with 10,300 moles on it for %48,500 when it was 3.5 years old. The sticker price was $100k. I am selling it, this week with 61,500 miles for 22k. 9 years old and 61k miles, you tell me??? Now, I bought my MYP in April. It was $53k but I got $5,500 off through inventory plus $7500 fed and $3500 local incentives. So i got it for about $37k. Seems to all come out in the wash. I didnt need to sell the MS, it was in perfect condition but I wanted to move on. So it is worth what I'm willing to sell it for and what someone is willing to buy it for. That 0.99% interest rate will help to fight against negative equity. More of your payment is going towards principal and less towards interest.

Think the inverse occurred with hertz. The rise in price was related to the pandemic stopping all production of components. And people were dumb enough to take the extra cost instead of waiting for prices to normalize

Exactly. I just saw someone post their 2021 Model Y order sheet yesterday. $75k before tax. That same spec now without the FSD (which doesn’t add resale value per Tesla) $45k after the tax credit.

Hey J, came across you on my feed due to my interest in EVS, BTW I love your disclaimer before you can post. K, here's my question, although I did miss out on financing, what do I need to consider when financing a MYLR or MYP when it is going ot be driven ALOT? Ex, my 2020 Lex Ux250h, was purchased end of Feb 21 "used" with 85mi now in juneb2024 it has 173000mi. Besides financing, what about maintenance? Are there any other considerations or is it all rainbows and unicorns without the (monthly in my case) visits to dealership for oil and maintenance. Thanks in advance...

People don’t understand the commercial side of ev depreciation is hurting the personal resale market where a person has a solid vehicle they just want to sale in several ways the dump by rental and rideshare occur also because you can’t high voltage charge several times per day .those vehicles have no chance to last as long as the owner who charges at home and uses the supercharger network for traveling occasionally. If you charge at home and supercharge as needed I’ve seen older teslas having no issues. A lot of those people with good vehicles are caught up in a flood of dumped vehicles especially where I live by the airport . I’m personally only ever concerned If I were to purchase something out of inventory because it’s available right now ,and then something new , better and more efficient is unveiled in a short period of time at a lower price and better rate

Applying the fed tax credit at point of sale also helps combat depreciation
