2:22 Chrome Tour was not the Chrome Soft. Chrome soft is still the Chrome soft and Chrome Tour is what's replacing the X LS.

I traded in the 2015 big bertha for an ai smoke driver and the chrome tour spun quite a bit less for me and had a lower trajectory as well which i need. So excited for the season to start!

That chromesoft x-LS was a good ball. I played it quite a while. Super curious on the replacement, chrone tour

Question… what spins less chrome soft or tour ? I’m struggling with balls atm.. use a supersoft which is forgiving but I feel I lose driver distance. Thinking of a more premium golf ball but not sure which to go for. I like a less spinny ball as there isn’t as much curve. Any advice ?

I’m going chrome tour this season! Nice video! I like a softer feeling ball for putting and chipping.

I already play the TP5x Pix. Just ordered 2 dozen of the new balls. I spin the ball enough with irons and wedges. Looking forward to putting them side by side on the GC Hawk next week!

Why is it that nobody ever shows the club data as well(swing speed and smash factor) when doing the ball comparisons. Makes a big difference if you swing the club faster with one over the other.

Great video, I would like to see the chrome soft x Ls vs the Chrome Tour since that is what it’s replacing. Played the X LS last year And really liked it I hope the chrome tour delivers .

I'll be honest I typically can't tell differences is premium balls. That being said, I played the new TP5x yesterday and it is 100% longer than last years chrome soft LS. I haven't tried the new chrome tours outside yet but ibhave hit them on sim and while good, they didn't stand out like the TP5x.

Like you said you can't go wrong with either one leaning to the PIX also i enjoy the Callaway ERC soft the NEW TITLEIST AVX the PXG EXTREME CALLAWAY TRUVIS WILSON STAFF MODEL VICE PRO SOFT and in the spring or fall cool months the SRIXON SOFT FEEL or CALLAWAY SUPERSOFT enjoy using all these balls not really set to one specific one I am 59 years old and a 8 Handicap cheers from Vulcan Canada

Just switched from Taylormade to chrome tour… il like it very much… BUT…. Seems way more fragile than the Taylormade… the cover thinner?

Chrome tour was very comparable to my gamer ProV1 for me on the course. Similar feel and spin around the green. Maybe slightly higher launch on the chrome tours but I was overall surprised at the performance. Too bad they are exactly the same price as prov1s or they might've convinced me to switch.

Interesting. I am going to try some Chrome Tours. Recently I’ve cycled thru Pro-V1’s, AVX’s, TP5’s (not 5x) & Tour Response. The V1’s definitely wear best. TP5’s fly higher. Tour Response was surprisingly good for a second tier ball. AVX’s I’ve had most of by better results…but how much is performance on the day. For reference I play off 8, am early 60’s age, driver swing speed 100mph & smash factor about 1.45. Gut feel is I’m not sold on TP5, like V1’s & don’t want to like AVX as they scuff a lot…but they score well - & have a similar view of Tour Response (but not the ones with the coloured bands). Also, I use Optic Yellow if available.

Thanks for your comment! Definitely give Chrome Tours a try. My favourite, like you, is AVX, and i've found that the new model is more durable.

these two balls are not directly comparable. i understand the supposed lower spin part, but soft feel and around greens chrome tour is my choice. I'd personally compare the x models, and non x models .

I am pretty sure the chromesoft x-ls turned into the chrome tour. Am I wrong?

I don't think it's as black and white as that but that is the ball that it's closest too. I found the X LS to be even lower spinning than the Chrome Tour

200 yard shots spin ratings are inconclusive. 500 standard deviation on chrome tour can’t be stated as being lower spinning.

Looked like your dispersion was much better with the tp5x in the testing

Your not testing like for like, I don’t won’t to be picky but you should have tested the Callaway against the TaylorMade TP 5 and not the X 🤷‍♂️ or have used the Callaway Tour X

All 3 big brands have different setups for their balls: ProV1 - lower flight/spin/compression ProV1x - higher flight/spin/compression TP5 - lower flight/compression but higher spin TP5x - higher flight/compression but lower spin Chrome Tour - lower spin/compression but higher flight Chrome Tour X - higher spin/compression but lower flight This gives options as consumers, but there really are is nothing perfectly apples to apples here. They are all a little different.

Where is SRIXON. I think zstars are better then both

No, I compared their like for like balls for each brand.

Tp5x probably the worst ball for most players. Hit a shot out of some rough and that low spin drops even lower and now your approach shot just flew the green. But people see launch monitor data and just buy it. Sometimes they’re their own worst enemy

TP5 is the higher spinning model, as is the Chrome Tour X. These are the lower spinning models.

@@GolfmagicPlus Then don't talk about compression and feel. As I've tried all three...and I still say they are closer to the new TP5 then TP5X. As the TP5 also spins lower with the driver and spins more around the green. Sound familar?
