I think I'm going to get one, 2024 Outback Touring white with brown interior. It meets all my need and look very elegant. The 180 degrees front view camera is good but I wish it has 360 surround view camera. It will be perfect.

These days, American versions are looking 50% cooler. In Australia we don't get the Wilderness, but not just that - do you see the black jowl trim under the headlights? We don't get that option - and it looks so cool. Americans get the best looking Subaru Outbacks. I just bought the Outback 50 Years XT - and man, the Wilderness looks like its rich uncle. Except for the seats and stereo. Mine has better for both. But man - the American Wildernesses are really great looking beasts.

Very thorough review on the exact automobile my wife is looking to buy. We have been torn in deciding between turbo or no turbo. The 2.5 L motor was more than adequate in our 2019 Forester, and we are only replacing it because it was totaled when my wife was rear-ended a couple weeks ago. (My wife is a little beat-up but OK - a testament to the safety of modern cars and the Subaru particularly). Thank you for the excellent review!

@@chabbysridesone more thing. You reviewed the Forester touring 6 or 8 months ago. Did you prefer the Outback or the Forester, and maybe why?

@jimvanderwood3094 I like the Outback better. It has a more car like ride, which I prefer. As for Subaru SUV’s, I’m a Crosstrek fan.

Nice review as always Mike. The Outback Touring was my 2nd choice but I got a better deal price wise on the Tucson Limited so I went with that choice and have no regrets!

Thanks Frank. I appreciate the support. I have heard about some issues with both. Regarding head gaskets and oil seepage. But it looks those issues pop up at about 90k miles.

When is the 2025 model coming out? Very interested in the touring XT model

I don’t like all the chrome finishes …I ended up going with the OB Onyx XT. My trade in was a 2016 Forester Touring. I love the power of my XT!

Most likely will purchase this model as I drive a lot of turn off and turn on driving (on 10 min off a half hr). Read the turbo needs a cool down period of a few minutes before you shut it off which would not be practical. Call me old school, I still like a actual key LOL.

I have the 2019 limited. Not much of a difference. I will pass for a different car and look.
