2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness Earns Its Off-Road Scout Badge

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Any new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek has the ability to get owners to the good hiking trails. Now it’s available with the brand’s Wilderness package that adds additional ground clearance, off-road oriented tires, extra protection for the drivetrain, a re-calibrated transmission and lots of cladding and badging. It really will take people further into the wilderness. Tom Voelk takes it on an Ocean Shores razor clamming adventure and shares some of Ryan Douthit’s video of it tackling tough terrain. All that and it’s a pretty good everyday driver. This fully optioned vehicle retails for around $36,000. A solid deal.

Crosstrek WRX, c'mon Subaru do it. You have all the parts needed, they just need to be put together. A hatchback WRX with 8 inches of ground clearance : ) or at the very least make a competent hybrid Crosstrek cause the last plug in hybrid Crosstrek was just such a sad attempt

Thank you for a great review Tom!! I certainly enjoy your channel :), I do own a 2015 Crosstrek Premium model, and I wish I could get the new Wilderness edition :( , but right now I can not justify the much higher price of it, and one issue that is very frustrating and and that I contacted the Subaru company about is, why would a FRONT CAMERA not be included in the Wilderness, it is in the Forester and Outback, would it be that much more money to install? Oh well, the Subaru Rep I spoke to could not give me any reasons why, but you would expect all the "Wilderness" level models to include it, it is a safety issue, how are you supposed to "see" ahead on a risky trail. Do you know how much it would cost to install an aftermarket camera system? if that's even possible. Thank you again! MC

I'm sure there's a local outfit that could hook you up with some sort of front facing camera, but I have no idea what it would cost or who would do it. Check with an off-road, specialty outfitter or shops that do car stereos. Anyone else have an idea?

It was nice that you shared a little personal time on here. Gives your videos much more personality than just about the car; its about the people living with the car too. My only gripe is on the power and efficiency of this rig. We all know there can be a hybrid, a more powerful engine. Feels like they are still a generation or maybe 2 still behind the rest of the on-road cars.

Droolworthy. Razor clams, not the Subaru.

Every generation of Subaru gets more overstyled and ridiculous looking. “All new” with the same drivetrains and pitiful fuel economy.
