great video. I missed the EV announcement. Glad you added it. Smart they started with the tour companies. Easy machine to maintain. Do you know if they moved the Neo to the gen 5? Guessing no since it was not mentioned. Was also hoping they would add the 10 inch screen to more models. Not keep it for only the high end machines.

Could you post a video about the 900 turbo R renegade for 24 in the G5 chassis? I'm wondering how the handling, etc, is with the weight. I see you guys like the lighter 850 in a G5, but I haven't seen one on the G5 with the different steering post location.... Thanks, Northwoods Snowmobiling

I don't understand leaving the 2 stroke Enduro as a renegade. I like the thought of separate renegade/MXZ by engine type. Why throw a wrench in it with one exception? Why not have a Renegade and MXZ with Enduro option?

For the Electric sled 30 miles is a very short range. I see Electric Sleds working well at Ski Restores with an aggressive track to get to the top of the Mountain and regenerative braking on the way back down .

Its neat that the liquid injection solution to overheating dates back to the mid 40's fighter planes. They'd spray it into the supercharged fighter planes to keep from blowing engines under "emergency power" situations

EV’s rely on a lack of rolling resistance more than anything. The less a vehicle can coast after letting off the throttle, the less range it’s going to have. Snow is a terrible thing to travel thru if you’re looking for efficiency especially if it’s not packed down like concrete. Electric snowmobiles will never have a decent range with the battery technology that currently exists. Sleds require constant torque to keep moving forward…..cars don’t.

Is anyone else getting less and less snow? I've been wanting to purchase a snowmobile for the last couple years and it seems like since I started looking we get less snow every year. I'm pretty sure the range is deliberately kept down as the smaller battery pack weigh less and cost less and they simply don't need more range. The fact the battery is under the hood confirms it's pretty small. The Taiga sleds have more than twice the range, at least according to specs, and it has the battery under the seat.

I was super excited to watch the reveal two nights ago. But I'm a little (maybe a lot) put off by the pricing this year. I've been riding Ski-Doo since 2013. Might purchase a non-current. I'm seeing an Arctic Cat Hardcore with an attractive price. Any Ski-Doo riders out there who have ridden the modern Cats for comparison? Am I making a mistake thinking the way I am?

I currently ride a 2022 Arctic cat alpha one. I've ridden the 2023 gen 5 turbo summit. In my opinion, the cat is easier to maneuver & tough to beat for price. The only reason I'd switch to the skidoo is for the turbo. If you're riding a naturally aspirated sled, cat is at the top in terms of price & performance.

Purchase price is a small part of the formula. Ownership cost (Purchase price - residual value) + Operating cost (fuel + maintenance). Skidoo have significantly higher resale vs cat. When you take everything into consideration they are cheaper to own (unless you plan on keeping forever). Same ideal why you see so much Caterpillar construction equipment, does it perform that much better to warrant a 10-20% higher price, no, but when you factor cost per hr it’s cheaper.

@@pierre_desbiens good perspective. I don't have enough experience with skidoo to know for sure. With that said, I bought a 2019 alpha one for $11,500 (new). I sold it for $9,900 with 500 miles on it in December. If you ask me, that is VERY good value even according to your logic. Again, I'm not saying your point about skidoos is inaccurate, but your point about cats not holding value, well, that hasn't been my experience at all.

Sorry going to have disagree you with the EV snowmobile, I think it’s a terrible idea. I design electric power grids, most of the tour groups live in areas where they only have single phase power available, therefore only a slow charge would be available and you wouldn’t have the capacity to charge a whole fleet of electric sleds at once without 3 phase being available, and that’s assuming that feeder isn’t at max capacity already. Maybe the tour groups are renting the sleds from ski doo but if not then the resell value would also be terrible.

I guess I'm confused as to what direction Ski Doo is moving with their shock packages. I guess the boys at Ski-Doo never heard, Happy Wife, Happy Life. My wife doesn't want an 850 and doesn't want a 900r.
