In this video I will be testing the Shimano SLX DC Baitcasting reel for the first time! I will take the reel to a local pond to do some bass fishing. I think the best way to do a reel review is to put the reel to the test by catching some fish! I am excited to make this video because this reel is the most popular and iconic fishing reel on the market today. I will share my thoughts about the reel at the end of the video!

I’ve been throwing a Metanium dc for the last 2 years and it’s awesome! $500 is a lot though!

@@thesouthwes came in today took the kayak out caught about 6 bass! Idk what’s more satisfying the ziiiiing noise or catching the fish
do you recommend a 6’6 rod or 7 ft rod for the slx dc, also 1 or 2 piece for the rod? i fish from the bank

Personally I’d go with a 7 ft one piece
what's the difference in the ratios?

They are how many times your spool rotates per full turn of the handle. So the lower numbers are slower speed reels
