I think i've watched all the video's from all the people that were there and this is definitely one of the most detailed on the bike itself. Some others looked like they were there just for a jolly and a mess about.
One of my favorite channels. Every time there's a bike I'm curious about, you've got a video for it that's informative, sharp and well produced. Thank you so much!
Thank you for the impression about this bike and also showing the navigation. I am looking to buy my bike first bike in the coming months and this made the shortlist of bikes I am considering.
Great review. I'd love one as a 2nd bike. May even try off road on it.
Fantastic review!
I’ve left adventure riding due to my knees- boo! If I ever fixed them, I’d get one of these in a heart beat (Just quietly, like most things, the ADV category is full of people with a cult of opinions- “oh you can’t ride that, it can’t do proper off road” “can’t get that, the suspension is 💩 “ “oh you can’t get that brand, it’ll leave you stranded” “KTM - keep taking money” “it’s too heavy, you can’t pick it up” etc, etc. to be fair, I was guilty of it too - but I’m also relieved that I’m not drawn into these convos anymore😂)
The low seat height of 805mm is only available on a separate low seat option (805/825mm) and not the standard seat of 825/845 you have on that bike.

Your first impressions are on point. Mirroring the google map navigation is a novel idea but the execution hasn't be great. I hope a software update will fix the niggles.

Just a kind suggestion. Can you please talk about the gear ratios and the engine vibration at various highway speeds? Most people only drive on flat straight road, 80% of the time. Most motorcycles are just not geared high enough to actually drive on modern long highways.
How does the suspension on H450 compare to the one on Honda NX500? Is the Honda's as plush or does it have the characteristic 'Honda Stiffness"?
The old 411 was kinda fun but not really; miserable suspension and seriously underpowered. This new 450 has some real promise.
At 175cm, how about weight? thanks ;-) I'm 5'8" too, and I think I found the right one after getting confused about the CRF Rally, MT450 of CF Moto, and scrambler 400 of Triumph. I found this bike a mix of retro and modern types that never get out of style.
Engine wise how does it compare to the 390 Adventure

How much longer is it than. The old model
I don’t know about this ride by wire May be they should go back to cable ,how do you fix it in the middle of nowhere I’m on the fence on this one besides that concern it’s a really good bike bang for buck it’s got plenty power now the designers have done a great job
Bang for buck it’s good value. And what it says on the tin it dose ,it’s good for a single jimmy Australia
The people at RE must rush to do a 19"/17",or ideally a 18"/18" version.
Was waiting for someone to talk about the vibrations. Thanks for that. It would be nice to know what the speed ranges that the vibes are worst. I head it was 110 to 120 kph. Which could be a deal breaker
@andreajesuspirlo
2 ай бұрын
Having rode the bike, i don't think the vibes are distracting. The bike smoothens out after the 500 km break-in period. You have to keep in mind that it is a single cylinder engine so some vibes are expected.

Definitely motorway stuff, although we didn't do much so I'm hoping to get one here in the UK soon to test some more.
If the NX was a 270 deg parallel twin my money would go that way. Id take a single over it as is.

The Honda 471cc still sounds so much better than a single and is smoother. It helps to take out the airbox snorkel.

@@Thirsty_Foxyou get in decat and this sounds even better. People have been doing it here & it does sound really good after sight alternations. Having a smoother experience is something u can get in twin cylinders.
What about that tiny "flyscreen" - didn't mention it ... RE has the optional "adventure screen" which seems to make sense, unless you only drive between neighboring villages in Bhutan.

If the regular is sufficient or if it works at all. Totally clear that nobody would like to run this bike over 120 for hours ... It just looks tiny and useless.
(हिम+आलय = हिमालय in Devnagari script) Hima + Aalaya =Himaalaya i.e. Him = Snow; Aalaya = Home or residence so Himaalaya = The home of the snow. Similarly the correct way to pronounce Himalayan would be Himaalayan i.e. that of the Himaalayas. 🎉

Good afternoon Dan. A few weeks ago, I did a review on my mates 2023 Honda CB500X, and a week ago on this Himi 450. A lot of people want to compare the Himi to the new Triumph 400X, but I think it is closer to the CB500X (though I haven’t ridden the Triumph yet), I know it’s a single vs a twin - 40hp vs 47hp. What do you think ?

Good bike for the price. Didn’t get the hype of the previous one. The 1970’s XT500 was better. This is the bike RE needs to keep up with the competition it has created.

You could certainly have the conversation with a dealer.
I wish this was just a different model, "the sherpa" or something like that, and kept the more retro ,utilitarian look of the original as the Himalayan model , but then again even the original lost its appeal to me on launch because they removed the kick start and carb option. As an Enfield collector the very first Indian Himalayan with carbs and kick start is the most desirable model for me.
@TheParaxore
2 ай бұрын
I thought In foreign markets they still had the carb and kickstart versions available?
I saw the combined indicators and brake lights on a new GS and really didn't like them. That apart the new Himalayan looks a cracker, particularly in that colour scheme.
Can we expect a first ride of this bike?

Because then use your phone's GPS and signal and computer to operate the map. If you wanted to build a unit that didn't need a phone it would drive up costs and probably perform worse than if you just connected your phone.
