Why on earth must they cut off their dogs ears. The nearly look like Greyhounds, and they only race after a stuffed bunny! Its cruel and illegal!

Clipping ear lobes is an ancient tradition, done to prevent the shredding of ears on thorny bushes etc. while running on top speed, a single stride of 10 to 12 feet. Salukis love running, chasing and killing prey; they've been bred to do that for thousands of years. Also lure coursing is not illegal, it's a sport and a hobby both dogs and their respective humans can enjoy. However using live animals as lures is illegal in most countries, therefor stuffed bunnies.
