The Cardinals fan base is in a trance about MHJ. They're so scared to lose out on him that they're closed-minded to the possibilities. I prefer him as well, but I'd take 11, 23, and next year's first - then take my chances to move back up for one of the three WRs in the top ten, over MHJ by himself. I actually think we can do the deal with the Vikings then package 11, 35, and next year's third to go back up to five for MHJ.

@@blessembreaks Maybe not. But it probably means they won’t get one of those four QBs. I think the Cardinals GM really wants to capitalize on the value. If the Vikings don’t do it, I can see a smaller package from the Giants at six. I actually think they may prefer a deal with the Giants to ensure they get one of the three receivers. Obviously, I could be wrong, but my hunch is the fourth QB won’t get past the fourth pick.

@@chetubetcha3615 Trey pipkins & jamaree salyer are both fine starting tackles if Greg Roman is the coach. 10 teams would probably take either of them over what they’ve got. The corner room is SO much worse than the tackle room & the receiver room is even worse than the corner room. All that aside, the ravens drafted 4 WRs in the first over the last 10 years. 3 LB/OLB, 2 DBs, 1 QB, 1 TE, 1 C & 1 OT. Harbaughs niners took 2 LBs, 1 WR & 1 DB. If you actually watched the chargers in 2023 you would understand that the protection problems came largely from the interior & the absolute zero at blocking from the tight ends, both positions have been addressed in free agency & are later round picks if they do address them in the draft anyhow

As a Falcons fan I just can't get excited about taking one of these pass rushers at #8. It is clearly their biggest need but when I look at every analyst's big-board, none of them have a pass rusher in their top 10. Some of them don't even have a pass rusher in the top 15. Even when they are high on one of those guys there isn't a consistent favorite. Some of them like Tuner, some like Verse, and some like Latu. Maybe Atlanta feels strongly that one of Turner/Verse/Latu will be a stud and is worthy of a top 8 selection, but I'd rather take the consensus blue-chip wide receiver or trade back with a team that needs a top-tier pass catcher (of which there are a lot).

Joint size is a decent predictor of strength and size potential. I haven't looked deep into the science to know if it's a strong enough correlation to really care about. This is something that's been known/talked about in strength sports for a long time though.

Had low expectations with a community draft but I would love Verse to the Packers would be a huge steal

Just a general observation re the PFF simulator… it seems Nix and Penix regularly are going early-mid round 2. Unless you’re a team with a well established QB taking a backup, that range makes absolutely no sense to me… if you like the guy enough to draft them in the early 2nd, surely the draft capital to move into late 1st (and get 5th yr option) is nothing compared to saving the cash and cap space?

Steve and his love affair with Drake Maye needs to be studied. The man continues to try to talk himself out of Daniels being better than him lol now JJ McCarthy is supposedly better than Daniels these guys don’t know what the hell they talking about. They literally only know stats as if playing the game actually doesn’t exist. The play matters more than arm strength size or winning every game. Daniels by far is better at processing the field delivering a catchable ball and placing it where his guy can make a play. Mate gets his WRs killed with throws behind and high. He only reads half the field. Doesn’t process after snap. He only looks in rhythm on short passes anything else it’s wonky. Footwork and accuracy is just not good enough. Like these guys need to stop thinking stats determine how good or bad a player will be at the next level.

Personally, I don't think there is a team that is going to trade up to 4 or 5 for a guy like JJ McCarthy. I think the only way a team trades up is if they can get a deal done with New England at #3.
