2024 NBA Draft Blueprint, Comparing to Previous Drafts + Lottery Talk

Спорт

Tyler Rucker (@tyler_rucker) goes solo mode to give his thoughts about why the 2024 NBA Draft class deserves some excitement. Then, going through some of the "notorious" previous classes in NBA Draft history that have been viewed as weaker over the years and what we can learn from it ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft. Breaking down the blueprint of the 2024 class, by placing players into categories to try to make the picture easier. Finally, looking at each NBA team in the Lottery and bringing up some names that could come into the conversation moving forward.

Anyone who says this is a weak draft are primarily looking at the lack of "superstar" talent at the top 5. People need to stop thinking "superstar" and start looking at this draft for what is, which is full of potentially excellent roleplayers. It's a perfect draft for a team with an already existing young core.

Tristan Da Silva & Devin Carter would fit perfectly for the Miami Heat

Thank you for this video. I cringe every time someone regurgitates, "This is a weak draft class", but have never watched a day of college or international basketball

There's no such thing as a bad draft. There's only bad front offices that dont know how to identify and/or develop talent.

You're right about the dread of the top 5 picks. To give you all better context: Mark Williams was #15 in his draft class. Now his free throw percentage is at near 80%. Now contrast that with a Donovan Clingan (with a 52% FT) that's mocked in the top 5 of this class. Yet he has no other tool to make him more valuable than Williams who was outside the lottery Outside Sarr, it's a tossup for all the others

@@NoCeilingsNBAwe appreciate the work you do. Hoping my Hornets will go for the jugular and pick Tidjane Salaun @#6. He's ahead of Brandon Miller at that age (BM was 20yrs on draft night. Tidjane will be just 18yrs old on draft night). I was in the Ron Holland train, but Im still not sure about his basketball IQ. Ron has all the physical tools/gifts. But his low free throw percentage & feel make me iffy. He gives that Tari Eason comp/vibe. I predicted the Brandon Miller over Scoot.

only idiots think Clingan is a top 5 talent. That has no bearing on Mark Williams or this draft class' strength in the slightest

When was back to back MVP Jokic drafted? Second round I think 🤔 . How many scouts had him on their radar? Not saying expect a Jokic at all, point being every draft and every swing matters.

I think you can choose any one of 7 different guys as the first pick, and be able to justify it. A fair number of Wiz fans want Castle. Hoping the Wiz and Spurs trade-- 2 for 4 and 8-- and hope for Castle and Holland or Cligan.

the "weak draft" takes are embarrassing. You fools get prospects and classes wrong every single year except for the no-brainer 2017 and 2018 drafts. 2024 is ridiculously deep. Arguably the best international class ever. Best returning class ever because of COVID and NIL.

"We shouldn't compare the classes" - proceeds to spent half the time doing exactly that. How about doing what you preach.
