    Best kit Ive seen. Toss a trash bag in there in case your poncho tarp or clothes get wet and muddy. Thanks for sharing.

    any wet or dirty kit would get strapped on the outside of the pack so it can dry, if you pack it in a watertight bag it'll mold and ruin equipment

    Nice video nice stuff. It never ceases to amaze me how we in the west have so much disposable income to spend on larping. Not a criticism.

    Cut the bottom half off a small water bottle and tuck your sawyer stuff into it. Scooping water into a cup then into those bags is way faster than trying to dunk the bag and getting it to fill. Plus that's the only way you're getting water from shallow places at all with that setup. It's a good one, but adding a scoop to it makes it unstoppable.

  • @WinterWarriors

    @WinterWarriors

    that's a good idea. you thinking the top half of a regular commercial bottle and using as a funnel? might be good to add a bandanna to that to filter out larger debris too. use cookset/canteen cup to scoop into the funnel and into the bag.

  • @camojoe83

    @camojoe83

    @@WinterWarriors nah, i use the bottom half as a wide mouth scoop and just give it a lil pinch on the edge to make it pour accurately. If it might give you new ideas, I'm pretty sure that smart water bottle threads match right up to the Sawyer. I think you can work that to make them easy to backwash in the field as well as drink thru them more or less, but I can't remember right off. I thought that would be useful, but my best adaptation for mine has been putting it inline on a water bladder and just using it to drink directly or fill many bottles using it as a gravity filter. Definitely pre filter anything chunky, whatever method you like. They're definitely a good tool for the money.

    @@WinterWarriors no problem. Another thing would be some iodine tabs for backup and when you're doing training near civilized areas, especially rural habitations. Just to be safe. You'd be surprised where poop ends up after a spring flood.

    You definitely have the basics to be sustainable. What is the weight of your bag? How many miles have you rucked with that bag? I didnt see a repair kit, wet wipes (toilet paper).

  • @WinterWarriors

    @WinterWarriors

    it's around 40 pounds could be a little more or a little less. durring summer i was doing about 8 miles every other day for some lighter conditioning. I had toilet paper in the lid of the ruck and a repair kit would be good to get, as of rn just using shoe goo that I don't keep in my ruck because I'm worried about it bursting or deteriorating durring winter.

    Most don’t have the training to run a tac dog. The dog also needs to be trained. Extra equipment for the dog is also extra weight. Think of food, meds, dog maintenance equipment, med kit for the dog etc. In a team dynamic where equipment can be distributed and another “handler” can utilized then it is more feasible. One person carrying that much kit plus kit for a dog is a bit much. Is it advantageous to have a trained K-9, yes but you also have to figure what it is you are trying to accomplish and what means you have to accomplish the task with. Just my 2. cents worth.

Few people have ever read it, and I suspect they have a confirmation bias towards what they want to believe is in it. That's all, nothing more and nothing less. It is their statement, not mine. Regarding the gear video, it has nothing to do with it.

    I've just recently added 3 extra pairs of socks. I'd had them in there before but haven't used them enough to keep em around because I always dried mine at night in my bag. carrying an extra pair of boots would be unnecessary unless you keep them in a vehicle. keeping them in a pack is just too much extra weight and bulk.

    I love how some military guys think they are so much better than civilians, I appreciate the sacrifice of our service members but that comment makes you sound like a douche thinking you're better than civilians just because you enlisted and had someone teach you how to shoot and survive and do drills because your daddy couldn't teach you himself lol. I'm a civilian and I'd bet my left and right nut I could not only out shoot, but out maneuver and out survive you.
