Overview
The Lexus LX, long known as a plusher version of the iconic Toyota Land Cruiser off-road SUV, no longer has a close relative at the Toyota store. That’s because the all-new 2024 Land Cruiser is now the smaller of the siblings rather than a near-twin. The LX, on the other hand, is unchanged and remains a full-size luxury SUV with proven off-road toughness. It’s powered by a smooth and powerful 409-hp twin-turbo V-6 working through a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. Rivals such as the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator are more flamboyant while the LX600, as it’s officially known, delivers a more subdued sense of luxury. The LX600 benefits from a reputation for both longevity and for being one luxury SUV that's as at home on a trail as on a boulevard. But while it delivers a supple ride and coddles its passengers in comfy seats, it lacks some of the extravagances of its similarly pricey competitors.
What's New for 2024?
The LX was completely redesigned for 2022 and has been little changed since. The 2024 model year sees but one update: the Ultra Luxury version's rear-seat entertainment system now comes with wireless Bluetooth headphones.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The price of the 2024 Lexus LX starts at $93.915 and goes up to $134.490 depending on the trim and options.

We think that the Luxury trim represents the best value here-value being a relative term when you’re talking six-figure SUVs-as it adds niceties such as semi-aniline leather upholstery, a Mark Levinson stereo system, and handsome 22-inch wheels among other features. Buyers who reflexively gravitate to the top of the lineup should know that the Ultra Luxury trim limits the cabin to just four seats.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The LX600 is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 engine that makes 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive are both standard. Given Lexus's penchant for hybrid powertrains, we wouldn't be surprised to eventually see a gas-electric setup under the LX's hood, similar to the V-6 hybrid used in the 2022 Tundra pickup, but so far the company has made no move to offer it. On the road, the twin-turbo V-6 provides ample power and the refined presence that’s expected in a luxury vehicle. In our testing, the LX600 hustled to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds, which will be more than enough for most drivers. The four-wheel-drive system includes a low range for when the going gets tough, although the fixed running boards would be vulnerable in serious off-road scenarios. Most LX600 models deliver a compliant ride, although that relaxed suspension means this tall schooner lists in turns. The F Sport model’s firmer suspension quells that tippy tendency somewhat but results in more ride harshness.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
Inside, the LX oozes luxury, starting with a wide center console between the front seats that creates a cozy cockpit environment. Quilted leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped dashboard, wood trim, and smoked-chrome accents imbue the LX’s cabin with a luxe ambiance. The front thrones earn top marks for comfort although they can't give you a massage, unlike those in most other luxury SUVs. The entry-level Standard trim comes with room for five in two rows of seats; the mainstream Premium, Luxury, and F Sport trims come with a third row of that increases passenger capacity to seven. The top-spec Ultra Luxury model is more for the chauffeured set with a four-seat layout that eliminates the third row and features dual reclining captain's chairs in the second row divided by a center console, plus rear-seat entertainment displays and wireless smartphone charging capability.

I have had the 570 for 9 years. That was very impressive, and little to no problems. The 600, not so much. I have had it for a year. 2023 VIP silver, black int. Mark Levenson. Price in Dominican Republic with tax and duty, 205,000 USD Note the following problems. Jerky transmission shifting, . The problem is that you have a 6000 pound SUV with a small motor. Add a twin turbo with a 10 speed transmission. This does not work. The transmission does not have the intelligence to pick the right gear fast enough. Tailgate design flaw. There is no back bumper now. It is hidden under the tailgate. But not sealed. All the dust and dirt will accumulate there. Want to access the back, and you will be very dirty. Who thought this was a good idea? Note the BMW X7 and Land Rover system. Every 600 owners are jealous. Cheap plastics everywhere, especially in the cargo area. You can leave a scratch with your fingernail. Use a vacuum and the service is destroyed. Why?? Carpets in the cargo area are two different types. In the middle the quality is so bad that the vacuum will pull it apart. As noted in another post, the pack rubber that seals the door does fall off. I do not have dogs. The door sill the cargo area is low grade cheap plastic. Why not make a metal plate for protection? I have the VIP model. The backs of the two seats are fitted with soft leather. There is no hard backing behind it. A light box or suitcase will damage and put a hole in it. The center console in the back is so ugly and ill fitted. just look at the back how it is finished. I had a black quilted protector made that covers the cheap plastic, floor and back of the seat. Install with velcro . Huge improvement. First the driver's side light washer cap fell off. 2 months later the other side fell off. In 9 years I never had a part fall off my 570. Lane change crap. Simply put, it does not work and is dangerous at best. It will put you in the grass and fight you like you are crossing a slush line in the snow. Worst part, you need to turn it off with a 3 second push button on the steering wheel every time you start to drive. All the mirrors, door handles and tailgate are designed so badly that they hold water. I clean my own SUV and I enjoy it. Come back after 10 minutes, and you will have water marks running down the paint. all over. Never happend with the 570. The VIP has the TV screens. Because the passenger side seat folds to the front, they make a huge mounting bracket for the screen, extending it into the space of the passenger, You have a very claustrophobic feeling. Add that to the narrow seats and extra wide console and you feel like you have no space to breathe. Bad feeling for an SUV so huge. Bad design. Handling if the SUV is unstable. It feels loose and dipps and sways anywhere it wants. It does not matter what ride option you choose. Speakers buzz. Tailgate does not open or close with the key fob, or just when it wants to. I can wave my leg like an idiot to open it, much to the amusement of the grocery bag boys. The air vent system to the driver's seat is so noisy, hard to ignore. Mud flaps and back bumper poorly fitted and can move inches back and forth when you touch. Inadequate lighting in the cargo area.
