I own an IS500 and was given the opportunity to test drive an LC500 from my dealer....sorry guys there is no comparison. The LC500 on paper is not the fastest car in the world, but the driving experience cannot be explained. This machine is literally a unicorn. No matter how you drive it, you will smile at least, and laugh daily. Literally the perfect street car. Win on the track, nah...probably not...stop light to stop light....likely but not guaranteed....driver satisfaction..I've never driven a vehicle that I have wanted this much.

I 100% agree, it’s definitely not the fastest car you can get for the money but the overall driving experience is just incredible… still prefer my GT4 though ;) but I’ll admit the LC is a better car overall

So it was good on the twisties? How’s the steering feel? Did this car have 4 wheel steering? Did it feel big?

@@jsonli I’ve driven a lot of cars on this road from Miata’s to GT3’s and the LC is top 5 best driving experiences I’ve had. Sure it’s not the fastest but the overall driving experience is just amazing. Steering feel is a bit numb. the LC belongs to my dad and he’s a big car enthusiast and he believes the car is very soft. However, I do believe this has more steering feel than any bmw F8X I’ve driven. My GT4 has more feel through and through. This car is a 2024 with dynamic handling package, so it has the RWS. I’ve driven one without RWS and it makes a HUGE difference. The LC is still a big and heavy car but with the RWS it feels more nimble; I akin it to a hippo wearing ballerina shoes 😂. As an overall car with the comfort and leather and performance it’s an amazing package, but it’s not as sporty as a Porsche if that’s what you’re looking for. Thanks for watching!

@@gentianmedia3814 Exactly, the IS500 is a comfort sedan with some hidden sportiness that will poke it's head out when asked...also very tail happy. I've learned to live with the flashing traction control light at every stop....unless I turn off traction control at which point it is extremely happy to lay double black lines to 100+feet. The LC is more planted, firmer and sportier in all sections but not the harsh true sports car. It literally is the definition of GT coupe (Grand Touring). More then enough power and speed to get some chrome plated bracelets...but a touch of class that cannot be explained. Honestly my dream car since I was a kid was the Porsche 911....but it has been replaced by the LC. Maybe it's because I am old...and appreciate the refinement over the pure sports mindedness of other cars. If you're looking for a street racer..this aint it.

I have one and couldn't agree more. Love it!
More people should watch this video. The LC (and other Lexus products) are quite capable and at-home up in the mountains/canyons.
LC it's just perfect , since I live in Europe. I have drive in the Alps, Italy, autobahn. Very comfy ,power enaugh for me. Did reach speed 275 km, in Germany. Dealership they are really hands on.
Ugh the updated infotainment is so much better

I passed one of these in the NC mountains last week and have been doing a lot of reading up on them. Looks like a fantastic car. Sounds wicked !
That reflection of the dash on the windshield would drive me 'round the twist, glad I ordered the Rioja red that has the black dash, great video otherwise

Did you have this in sport+? Any overheating issues with the trans? From what I hear, the new '24 LC500s come with trans coolers so I was wondering if thats true.
@gentianmedia3814
23 күн бұрын
Yes, it was in sport plus. I actually overheated the trans in the video at 9:50, but I kept up shifting and downshifting when I arguably didn’t needed to. I just drove it in one gear for 5 min then it resolved. That’s the only issue I had with the car. I think the KZreadr savage geese but higher grade fluid in his LC trans and it helped but it’s definitely still a weak-point in the car.

Would you say this video provides an accurate depiction of what the “toasted caramel” interior color looks like in person? It looks terrible in the online configurator on Lexus’s website, but actually looks really good in this video

Id take previous model years with out the ugly info screen. Old ones good enough
I just wish the LC had that one actual climate control ventilation buttons where you can quickly switch from defrost to ventilating forward, bottom, or both. Instead Lexus decided to hide the climate control button in the Lexus app along with the heated/ventilated seat button.
@gentianmedia3814
23 күн бұрын
The 2024 cars have the new infotainment so it is just a button on top of the volume knob that leads to the climate screen. I prefer a physical button for those as well (especially a sync button) but it could be worse
@robohofo1

I have the LC 21' with the old infotainment system. I enabled 'climate concierge' and in the 1.5 years of ownership never had to go into the climate menu to fiddle with anything. Only used the temperature rocker switch occasionally. I think the whole issue is overblown. The 24' model improved it with a touch screen, but older models are fine.

@@robohofo1 I rented a 24’ LC500 for a week and I had to go through at least two layers of the Lexus UI system just to access the climate controls. Also, the climate control UI screen is also different layer from the heated/ventilated seat and heated steering wheel screen. I’m aware there’s a heated/ventilated seat bottom under the aluminum volume knob near the gear shift, but after pressing that button I need to also touch the screen to adjust my settings vs. the traditional Lexus Heated/Ventilated seat buttons. A simple climate button would’ve solved all these extra steps.
@criancrna1487

@@gentianmedia3814 If my memory serves my right, the heated/ventilated seat button was below the aluminum volume knob…but I could be wrong. I just hated the fact I had to go through multiple steps just to achieve the desired climate settings versus the traditional Lexus heated/ventilated buttons which eliminates the step touching the screen plus provides you information on what setting via how many leds are lighted up. But, I do agree with you. It could be much worse.

Such a shame Lexus listened to the idiots and destroyed such a beautiful interior with that fake iPad media screen. The built in screen looked incredibly well integrated before. This looks like an afterthought on a sub $20k car. You are meant to be looking out of the windscreen not fiddling with media while driving so why make it easier to get distracted with stupid touch screens. There needs to be a law against using them while driving.

Agreed, it really is an abomination compared to the original and I don’t care how well it “works”. I literally get into the infotainment system once before driving off and never touch it again. I want to trade my 21 in on the last model year and I don’t know if I can do it because of this nonsense. If they add a trans cooler in the US it would make it a little easier to stomach that trash tablet.
