@@SundayDrives For a vehicle that's made for offroad purpose, it make sense to have a bigger gas tank. Gas pumps wont be in the desert or in the woods when I need it. and for reference a Range Rover which is a ultra luxury and a highly capable offroad vehicle have a 23.8 Gal tank.

@@RatishRam - it is not a 15 gallon tank AND even if it was, tank size is not the bar you should be trying to achieve, range is. The range in the LC is not less than others in its class. Again, the poster is a moron.

I hunt and camp (in a tent) and carry a bunch of crap in my 2016 4runner (lifted with roof rack and big tires). I get 283 miles per tank. Never had an issue running out of gas. They’ll have an extended gas tank for it in the aftermarket. If not, carry some Jerry cans like most overlanders do.

My biggest concern is premium gas which is not always available in the small villages. Just did a 13000km trip with my Tacoma pulling a small 3500 pound travel trailer from Ottawa, Canada to the Rockies and home. I generally did not take the TransCanada highway but took lesser highways through rural areas. About 20percent of gas stations did not have premium and often they were the only station in the town. Toyota insists on premium gas yet apparently the same hybrid in the Tacoma takes regular. This is, to me, a bigger issue.

Range anxiety with a gas car 😂, never thought it would be a thing! But seriously, very realistic review - I did not know about this issue. The GX 550 has 21.1 gallon tank and it’s basically the same car! Don’t know why the difference (possibly to keep weight low for mpeg reasons?), either ways - no other reviewer brings this point forward, very real owners review - thank you so much!

Interesting point since I am someone who backed out of a Rivian because of the range anxiety it caused due to a low range of under 300miles…. Our Land Cruiser gets the similar range! It’s definitely disappointing but I don’t have the anxiety I had when I was about to sign the papers for the Rivian. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Still a great ride off road though! I still love this thing and would highly recommend it.

actually the land cruiser probably accelerates and is smother than the v6 on the gx, reason is the electric motor which offers considerable amount of torque at 0-1000 rpm range.

Thank you for the video: I have driven this vehicle at three different dealers and agree with your comments. The present tank holds 17.9 gallons which would be adequate if the vehicle did achieve the stated highway mileage of 25MPG. However a number of recent youtube videos point out the true mileage is between 19-20MPG. A big disappointment! The other disappointment is using only high test gas and paying the premium of up $1.00 a gallon more. I drive a bullet proof 4runner generation 5 now and for the price of this Landcruiser I believe it will not be a successful model for Toyota. The other negative was the pull-off plastic on the tear bumper to use the tow hitch! Absurb on a vehicle at that price!

17.8mpg is really low; Toyota quotes 27. I know real world is always lower but this is significantly lower. Hmm. Maybe heavy-footed city driving or high speed cruising can contribute but still, this is disappointing average. I was hoping for 22 minimum. Edit: having checked LC forums it seems you are low end of things, dudes are getting 22mpg out of theirs more often than not, but some are getting very low figures like yours, almost as if the electric motor doesn't engage.
