Thanks for the information. How long is your elite personal training certification valid for before you have to recertify? And what do you have to do to recertify?

All reputable CPT certifications require recertification every 2 years by taking continuing education credits.

Im considering getting my issa cert, because issa offers kickboxing certification and I'm currently coaching Muay Thai already. It would be cool to have something with a program, and other certification competitors don't offer kickboxing aspect that would benefit me, and probably would be me other areas in fitness to get me work.

Yes. The NCCPT exam is optional. However, it may be required by some employers.

So do I obtain the CPR card through the ISSA course or will I have to go get that separately?

ISSA offers an online CPR course. However, many employers require that you take an in-person training. I get mine through the American Red Cross because they have many local classes.

Question - How many times can 1 person take the test to pass ? Does the package offer a limited amount of time or unlimited time with payment package ? “The exam”

You can sign up for a retest if you do not pass the online CPT exam. ISSA actually offers one free retake on a portion of the exam, but anything after that will require a fee. The fee for every retake after the first one is $99. All that said, if you double (and triple-check) your answers as the online test is an open book test to avoid having to retake your exam.

I started the course a couple days ago and the main textbook is pretty overwhelming lol. Trying to read through all of it.

@ Hello so im back I now have the main certification and the nutrition one too and am a certified fitness coach now and about to start the strength and conditioning one. Its kind of scary since the nutrition one had 6 essay questions I failed when I took the first try but passed after adding more to my answers lol. Im kind of hesitating to take the strength and conditioning now a little but going to start it. Thanks for the reply!

I get my First Aid/CPR/AED certifications from the American Red Cross: www.redcross.org/take-a-class Once you pass the live skills test you will receive a certificate/card that you can submit to ISSA as proof.

Some employers will only hire those that passed the NCCA-accredited exam. However, many do not require it. Typically, there is no difference in salary.

Yes. ISSA is an international certification. But double check with the facilities that you plan to apply for work in to find out which certifications that they accept.

You should have earned a high school diploma or GED. It’s also important to be certified in CPR/AED and first aid. You can take a Red Cross course in your area for this important safety credential. You are required to upload documents to receive your certification.

If you fail any portion of your Exam, you will be offered the opportunity to resubmit that portion of the examination, free of charge. This is known as your second exam attempt. Each retest beyond the second attempt may incur a $99 administrative fee. All exam attempts must be submitted before the course expiration date. All that said, the online exam is open book. I suggest double-checking your answers before submitting your exam for grading.

The physical printed books are not included. As I explained in the video at 01:00 you have to purchase the books separately. So, yes. Yes, you can! But, you won't receive a discount on enrollment.

Correct. You do not have to the NCCPT exam. However, many employers require an NCCA accredited certification. The NCCPT exam meets that requirement for those that need it.

Lots of them, including Equinox, Blink, Anytime Fitness, etc… it’s best to contact the gym you want to work at to find out specifically what they accept. Often franchises have their own requirements that may vary.

What's the difference between NCCPT exam and ISSA CPT final exam?

As I explain in the video, the ISSA Online Exam is not proctored, untimed, and open book. But, if you work for a fitness center, gym, or another facility, it may require that you pass the accredited exam which is proctored, timed, and not open book. That's where the NCCPT exam would be required.

That depends on what the facility you are looking to work in requires. Some will accept the online certification. Others will only accept the NCCPT certification. It's best to check with the facilities you are interested in working in to see what they require.

I'm unsure what you mean. If you are referring to the online ISSA CPT exam - Yes, you will be certified by ISSA as a personal trainer. However, the online exam is not NCCA accredited. You would have to take the optional NCCPT exam to receive that. Not everyone needs to do that though!

I’m not sure what you mean. You’re paying for the course and can take up to a year to complete it. It's not an annual fee.
