2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy vs Lexus TX 350 Luxury | Side by Side Comparison!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video we compare the 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy and the 2024 Lexus TX 350 Luxury Package. These two SUV's are both in the midsize 3 row segment however one is more in the mainstream segment while the other is in the luxury category. With that being said, there may be a few buyers who may end up cross shopping these two vehicles given the feature set isn't all that different. The Palisade Calligraphy is nearing the end of its lifecycle with just one more model year before an all new generation while the Lexus TX is all new for 2024. Both will offer similar power outputs from totally different engine both paired to an 8 speed automatic transmission. One of the biggest factors between them is going to be the price point given the $15,000 delta seen in this video. Let me know down in the comments, if you would consider cross shopping these two are if they are different enough that you would go for one over the other?

Thanks for the great video! I brought the 2024 Palisade thinking it offers more value, but I regret that purchase decision deeply. Hyundai’s customer service is terrible. The Palisade has a 1/4 inch gap on one side of the hood (not even touching the weather stripping) and I was told by the sales person it can be easily adjusted . Oh boy, that’s totally not the case. It took me over 6 months back and forth with the dealership and Hyundai USA, it’s still not fixed. Hyundai USA ended up just giving me their Corporate Legal contact and telling me to go ahead and sue them if I like. That’s just ridicules and rude for any reasonable customers. I had been a huge fan for Hyundai for value and 10 year warranty, and my families have purchased 4 new vehicles from that same Larry H Miller Hyundai dealership in the past few years. I should just listen to my wife on buying the Lexus TX. We had great experience with the Lexus dealership on my wife’s 2022 RX. I will no longer be a customer of Hyundai soon as I’m looking to trade it in for something else, even with the big hit of depreciation for owning the Palisade for 6 months. I cannot deal with their BS any more.

I'm really sorry that happened to you but I know that the manufacturer can't do anything in your circumstances because it has nothing to do with the functionality of the vehicle and you knew it was there before hand. If anything you should sue the dealership for lying to you and not the manufacturer. In your case, I would say even Lexus couldn't do anything for you for their vehicles. I've purchased countless Hyundais as well and for me and my family, Murdock Hyundai dealership is the reason why we're keep buying Hyundai. Hyundai itself is great but main reason is because of THE dealership experience.

How about this? My first Lexus (RX350) spend almost 3 months in the shop to fix some mechanical issue and my Honda/Acura electrical went bananas with less than 200 miles on the odometer and the paint started peeling as well

First of all, Lexus isn't a true luxury brand since they share the majority of their parts with Toyota. A lot of people are pointing out the fact and calling Lexus "expensive Toyota." In Europe alone, they don't really consider Lexus as a luxury brand. In the other hand, Genesis is growing rapidly in Europe. Recently, they acquired a chief engineer from Porsche to pave the road for Magma project. Soon, they might be unstoppable. I still have repects for Japanese auto makers but they don't build as well as they used to anymore. #timetomoveon

I wonder if the better comparison would’ve been the calligraphy against the TX 350 base, considering the closer price point. My assumption is that one will shop with a budget range, and 15K seems completely different budget tier. I just got the calligraphy 2 weeks ago, wanted something under 55K, got the calligraphy with 7,8% off MSRP. It was a no brainer considering what you get vs price.

@@alexcrisrafa I don't disagree that the price point would be much closer but the equipment would be further off. It's a give and take as to what one would compare, features or price point. The Grand Highlander Platinum would likely be the best comparison but even then it is still higher priced than the Palisade Calligraphy but much closer and what most would likely cross shop.

@@CarsMadeSimple of course, there’s no wrong and right here, multiple comparisons possibilities. Great review, and accurately reflected my buying journey, because I did go all the way to comparing with the TX premium and Luxury. Keep up the good work!

Great comparison mate, fyi I had that press harder to activate auto stop on my 22 Mercedes, also you forgot to mention the press to talk to third row passengers feature on the Palisades The major difference is the APR where Hyundai is offering 3.99% + $500 off while Lexus is asking for 8.29% Besides all that, you've missed other key features for the Palisades, such as 24 IIHS top safety pick, blind spot view, remote control forward and backward, and auto self park from inside and outside of the vehicle

I bought a TX 350 premium... very nice BUT... at 80+ MPH, it is TOO DARN LOUD inside (you will be PISSED at 85-90 mph). My 2007 Tundra is quieter. My kids' Hyundai Elantra and Tucson are quieter at that speed. I recently test drove a Hyundai Palisade and at less than 20K... the Palisade is fully loaded and quieter. My wife's old RX 350 is quieter too at 80+ mph speed

I looked at both and bought a 2024 Palisade Non Night Edition Caligraphy. The Palisade is realistically $20k cheaper. Has more features, a more refined powertraim, better warranty and the Lexus name immeans absolutely nothing to me.

I'm just curious how you came up with $20k difference? Depending on how it is optioned, $15k is stretching it in terms of MSRP because many people may not want the 22" wheels on the Lexus.
