i get it, but it's practically the same with older cr-vs, plus what's going to stop me getting the cheaper but better performing, Hyundai Tucson at 1.8m. I mean, yes it is awd, but it actually doesn't make sense with a weak engine and a CVT. ; or what's stopping me at getting Toyota RAV4, yes it is more expensive but its more efficient yet also better performing. This years CR-V is actually a downgrade.

I had a opportunity to test drive the 6th gen CRV particularly the Top of the Line Hybrid Variant. For me, paying 2 million php for this CRV is not worth it the ride and performance is almost similar to the 3rd, 4th, 5th gen (same engine) since the platform is almost the same. What makes it different from the mentioned previous generations is the hybrid and added safety technologies. If you are into hybrid and safety features like ADAS and Auto Braking I rather pay for the cheaper alternatives which is Toyota Yaris Cross and Nissan Kicks that I also experienced driving it; ride quality is almost the same with this CRV with a more affordable and worth it price.

@@agprd41 its comparable in terms of hybrid variants.....most of the buyers will buy the 2024 crv hybrid due to its hybrid features and its brand "Honda". In addition, I doubt that the third row seat will be used in this CRV. Majority of buyers who buy 3 row suvs rarely or never use the third row seat. My point is if I am looking for a hybrid car well I rather go to Nissan Kicks or Toyota Yaris. Like what I said, ride quality features of the Kicks and Yaris Cross is almost comparable to the 2024 CRV Hybrid.

As the mid-priced model, I don't know how well this will do in terms of sales. A lot of SUV buyers avoid the AWD to save cost and opt for a 4x2 variant. The top-of-the-line hybrid is someone for those that really want the best variant and can afford it. IMO for the PH or ASEAN market, they should've given the hybrid the AWD drivetrain as well and bump the price a bit by a 100k. Then remove the AWD variant and maintain the entry level 4x2 seven-seater.

@@ErnestMarvinEsteban you are correct. Most likely the top selling crv will be the most affordable (4x2 7-seater). But I have not seen any on the roads since the new model was launched (even the current HRV, I have not seen more than 10 units this year). Maybe in 2024 they would start releasing units for those who reserved one. But if these have been available since Oct this year,it may be an indication of buyers veering away from the CRV because of the obvious price bump.

I like the minimalist design of this gen compared to the last one, but if you're going for a 7 seater the Zenix might be a better overall car. Honda has precariously placed the CRV between the Hybrid Zenix and the Hybrid Rav 4 since they're almost the same size as the CRV and are also both unibody TNGA and you can get both of them as a hybrid especially with the Zenix, The hybrid CRV(Which is only a 5 seater) and even the turbo seems to be a hard sell comparing against the Rav-4 and the Zenix. They don't have the odessey or the pilot anymore to fill that place and it feels like honda is downsizing their lineup

@@paolosy1293 I don't doubt that the CRV is much more fun or much more refined than the Zenix but for purely for cargo and people hauling purposes it beats out the CRV. If honda made the 7 seater version of the CRV a long wheel base then it would be competitive. Think about it, the 2 litre hybrid Zenix cost approximately 1.9 million while this turbo CRV cost 2.3 million and you don't even get captains chair and a spacious third row and in the hybrid it's even much more of a hard sell because it's only a 5 seater version against the Zenix and it's also hard sell against the RAV 4 when the RAV 4 offers a more powerful hybrid system with the 2.5 liter engine and starts @ 2.1 million pesos compared to CRV RS hybrid which start at 2.6 million. The only thing this Honda has against them is AWD and the better honda sensing.
