The HCRHS Guitar Showcase is an after school unofficial "club" run by a long standing teacher, Mr. Van Antwerp. Though the rehearsal sessions are somewhat laborious and unconventional, the principal players pitch song choices and guide the other musicians through the learning process to get to the final show. Participants generally commit to this "club" for several months as its one of the only outlets for a long-form, anything goes kind of rock show. As you can glean from the performances captured in this video, it's much more than just a "guitar" showcase and many of the students are talented multi-instrumentalists. This Highlights reel condenses a 3.5 hour show down to 30 minutes of some of the best stuff that happened on that Friday night. Admittedly, some of the longer clips are my son Dean. Yes I was biased but I hope all the participants enjoy the clips anyway.

After spending countless hours making the 2 hour video for the Friday night performance, I was ready to write off the footage I captured the second night (Saturday). Some of the drum cam footage was missing because the battery died. I didn't have the HCTV footage to lift the vocal channel from. I even forget to start my audio recorder during the second half of the show. HOWEVER! I decided to run the 4K SONY AX700 on the monopod and zoom in on stuff. Wow, this camera puts out great footage even in these challenging lighting conditions and it looks even better since I didn't have to digitally zoom in. Not only that, the drum cam footage that I did get was from the front facing 4K camera and it's night and day better. I just decided to scan it all for some interesting clips, nice closeups, etc. Now I'm REALLY done unless someone requests a full song output or something.
