2024 Ford Mustang GT | Is the 300a good enough this year?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A few years ago I said that the 300a Mustang GT is a good way to break into the 5.0L Coyote but this year I'm doubling down on that. The Ford Mustang got some pretty big upgrades for 2024, including standard selectable drive and steering modes across the entire vehicle lineup.
The exterior and interior got a redesign, there's new technology and more power under the hood! As always, you'll find it as a fastback or convertible, with the GT having the option for the GT Performance Package carried over from last year.
In this video you'll learn what you need to know about the 2024 Ford Mustang, I cover off the difference in trim levels, standard and available technology, the interior and more. I want you to judge if you also think the 300a is a good contender this year!

Thank you for showing the details of the 300a trim. Almost all other youtubers did either GT premium or darkhorse trim with load of options. For people like me who does not have infinite budget, we really want to see some lower trims. Your walk through did give me more confidence to go for the 300a trim.

I've been shooting Ford/Lincoln since I started the channel 3 years ago so it's second nature to me now but the longer you do it the more you'll see similarities across different OEMs. Reach out on Instagram, Facebook or through my website! I have a 2018 GT Premium w/Performance Pack 1, 6 speed & Active Valve Exhaust. 60,000 miles. If you’re not doing “race car driving” the fuel mileage is much better than expected. In very stop & go conditions I typically get 16 to 18 MPG. Just returned from 3,700 mile road trip through New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming - avoided interstates as much as possible. Drove on mountain roads, small towns and secondary highways - cruising speeds typically 75 to 80. Occasionally hit 100+/- in passing situations. Overall milage 28+ MPG. Near perfect 2 person road trip car.🤠

Until I get about 350-400 miles. I also live in a rural area. So not a lot of stop lights around. If you baby it and drive in higher gears you can def get it to 18-19mpg

I have and loved it! kzread.info/dash/bejne/g2Fok7WcesnFhs4.html The Challenger can definitely hold its own against the Mustang depending on which trim level of the car you're looking at. You'd have to look at the Scat Pack 392 to get the 6.4L V8 in order to have similar power as the Mustang GT though. The Challenger has a classic muscle look inside and out vs the Mustang with a way more modern interior in the 2024 model. Drive them both back to back and see which one you like more. They're priced pretty similarly depending on the build you look at buying too! And don't forget that it's looking like the Challenger is in its final production year as an ICE car

I had a scatpack widebody six speed manual challenger that I sold last year…it was a hasty decision that I regret bc I’m looking for a replacement…I can tell you that the challenger def seems roomier then this mustang…the challenger is super fun to drive, and the stock exhaust sounds amazing…the mustang def has it beat in the infotainment department….I’m considering one of these mustangs bc of the price difference. I’m just looking for the V8/ manual combo…this 300a package with the active exhaust and nite pony package with the manual seems really nice. My challenger price today is 63k without any markup. This Mustang set up like this is around 46-47 I believe. I’m waiting for discounts to hit as I believe they will come…I haven’t driven the mustang yet. But I will as soon as a manual GT pops up on my area. My heart is with the challenger. But not at these current prices. If I like the Mustang after I test drive it. I’d definitely buy one but with a couple of grand off…

@@Derek-pq3zb thank you for this. I’m split on the very same details and I actually found myself agreeing with you on the cost of the mustang being relatively mmm more of a bargain for what mustang gt’s offer at around $46k-$49k whereas a scar pack I’m more than likely not finding new for that price. I appreciate the feedback now it’s just a matter of finding a good deal

If it is just you and it is a weekend car 300a is enough. If you are going to actually use it get the 301a. Heated power seats better sound and this has saved more fights dual control heating. To me that was worth the 2g upgrade. If it is your daily driver or you just have the money 401a all the way.

Only change I'd make is that if it's a daily I'd go for the 400a. Put the $3k towards the GT Perf Pack or Active Valve and some other uogrades

I forgot about 400a! 3k here 4k there and it all adds up. I got the 301a. It was hard to stay in budget. 7g more was way nicer but hey they will never know from the outside and the performance for the most part is the same!

You can get a standard GT for $20k less than the C8... Plus the power is close to identical between them.. 480 hp / 418 lb-ft torque in the regular Mustang, with a bump to 500 hp in the Dark Horse vs 490 hp / 465 lb-ft in the C8. Mustang at that price would give you magneride (optional in the C8), sport tuned suspension (optional in the C8), performance exhaust (optional in the C8) and a boat load more..
