Government (Parliament) should not be about party politics. All members of parliament should do their best for the country, not their parties. At 78 I have lived all my life under a one-party government. Now's our chance to build a United South Africa. I hope ALL our politicians work towards this goal and put their egos aside. Good luck. I hope I live long enough to see the kind of country my children and grandchildren will live in.

The DA is a party that defends almost exclusively minority rights/privileges. Whenever there has been an opportunity to change this, interests entrenched in that party have undermined it. The DA policy platform doesn't address the need for increased government intervention. Infrastructure, education, crime prevention and law enforcement are very necessary to create a country that attracts internal/external investments. Otherwise we'll sit with high unemployment, crime and terrible political stability.

ANC/EFF/MK coalition is a massive business opportunity for us in the WC. Already the real estate market in CT is seeing record interest as people relocate. The WC government should now actively start courting Jhb & Dbn companies to relocate their HQ's to CT. We should convince SMEs to come set up shop in a pro-business province. Wesgro should run marketing campaigns in Gauteng & KZN to convince people to move to WC

Agree with Mesh Pillay: You can't offer/give Social Services if you are not generating enough Capital...otherwise you have to keep borrowing untill you eventually default and become bankrupt. No country can keep spending more than it earns for very long. It seems the Government thinks the money will never run out? If our population increases while our economy remains the same, we are shrinking economically. Either the Population needs curbing or the Economy needs growing, ideally both.

One thing I picked up from this interview is that people like Mike and the DA tend to be alarmist when their political preferences don’t win the day. When you are in government you have to balance the social and the economic interests of the country. The narrative that South Africa is not attractive to foreign investors is not entirely true. They can’t shove the DA down people’s throats. The DA might be very good administratively, wich is something business appreciates, but some of their policies have alienated the majority of the people in this country “Especially poor black South Africans”. I am not in anyways defending the ANC. It’s obvious that they could have done better.

With all the anti-business behaviour coming from the ANC and worse from the EFF no-one wants to say where the jobs are coming from. The NDR is still ANC policy and the EFF are 100% communist so this not business-friendly. Expropriation is a huge issue for business. The issue of Starlink is a good example of own goals through business unfriendly policy.

Dr Phosa, you know very well what transpired with Mandela. Mandela was put in a corner. Mandela attended a meeting with NP in Grooteschuur and Victor Verster whereby he was given terms and conditions of his release. He was coerced to sign those minutes which entailed the setup of sa when anc takes power. That's how we got to gnu then. Same is happening now. Ramaphosa has made deals with the wcm (DA) and they've predetermined how SA will be governed. Tell the nation the truth. Or you all wanna take the truth to your graves. Where are the Grooteschuur and Victor Verster minutes?

This election shows that Black people don't trust ANC anymore to get them out of poverty and care to the needs of freedom fighters. ANC should form a coalition with DA to try the free market economy and with MK to bring the freedom fighters back into ANC. Even if that means the resignation of Cyril Ramaphosa. Country first.

You actually can fund social spending without foreign capital, it's called modern monetary theory, spending on infrastructure doesn't cause inflation so there's no need to fear "printing money" when it's deployed correctly.

We agree with Commander Mathews Phosa, especially on the fact thst DA must be excluded on the Government on National Unity and we are absolutely unapologetic about that. We equallt agree on black left unity in majority, lastly that MK must take the KZN premiership, but they must be in the GNU as well to advance the RET agenda.

In terms of allocation of potfolios to different ministries is concerned, people who are appointed to these positions must have vast knowledge of what those positions entail. Africans are generally not peace loving people as a result of the fact that everyone is doing everything in their best interests not instead of the people who voted them to govern in their interests.

"There is a lot of international capital waiting to flow in..." we have to entice foreign foreign investors..." that's our biggest problem. The reason why we don't have our own capital is because we allow the status quo to continue, I.e. we allow our minerals to benefit foreign countries. Let's change the status quo, we have the numbers. The DA / National Party has to toe the line or go to elsewhere.
