@@austinkowalski5512 I'd hope so, it's new. The problem is, it's a brand new platform from Stellantis. Stellantis, the company behind Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and others is considered to make the least reliable cars in the world. Given the hornet is a brand new platform, I wouldn't expect it to last very long unfortunately. I just hope you're leasing it.
I preordered one, requested the blacktop package, but they ordered without. All I can tell you is that even after waiting for 7 months, I laughed and walked away. The non blacktop package wheels are so hilariously dumb looking, and there practically are no aftermarket options that fit this bolt pattern and offset.
I’ll say this for it; the styling is attractive.
32K my ass! There’s one at Costco well over 50
Pricing on these are very attractive in California for the hybrid due to the govt rebates. Dodge was offering a lease last month with approx 4K down out of pocket and a payment of approx $225 a month. That was the RT with track plus package, the model is very loaded even 20" wheels Alacantara leather power/heated seats etc. My friend picked one up and for that payment it's amazing!! Must admit, like the vehicle much more than expected.

It looks pretty good! I like it! It’s expensive for a dodge 😂
I wish they would have took the Development cost to bring the Hornet here, to keep the Hemi... alive.
You guys are doing some really good work.

2024 Dodge Hornet GT AWD Plus Blacktop!
Its a rebadged Alfa Romeo. The only vehicle with worse quality than a Dodge.
Fantastic video and review!😸
The cooling system is extremely complicated and cooling lines run from the front engine compartment, all the way back to the rear battery and then all the way back in a loop. Ask any mechanic about how complicated and expensive this vehicle is for any type of repairs. Oh, and this is lol’ble…. All of the clamps throughtout the vehicle are one time usable. If you have to remove a clamp to replace any of the 100’s of hoses, you need a new proprietary clamp. Only dealers will be able to properly service the car.
Excellent video guys.
I love the dodge hornet. Compare to some rivals with it in future. Keep up the great work.
If you are looking at a Hornet, dont buy it. Way too many issues. I have been waiting for the radar since I bought it, possible ETA of Apr some time. Thought dealership had it fixed with an update, nope. Transmissions shifts very hard going in and out of 2nd gear with it getting into other gears. My Hornet is now at (not the dealership i bought it from) a dealership because the battery dies overnight. Could jump start it because the theft deterant system in it to where I couldnt even hook up a code reader, it says manufactorer has it locked out. The battery died the first time this past Friday morning. I was behind schedule by an hour, once it got jumped that day, the only day it was able to be jumped, some dumbass ran into cones and threw them into my lane and now I have damage to the front end because of it. I have regretted trading in my 2019 Ram Warlock edition. This vehicle is not worth the heartache and after reading the Hornet owners page, sounds like a lot of buybacks are starting to happen.
Awesome video of the all new Dodge Hornet!!! Great job guys!!

This is the first dodge car I saw with a round dodge logo in Steering wheel
I believe this is the same drivetrain that’s in my Jeep Cherokee less 2 HP. Great engine but noisy as hell and that 9 speed transmission sucks. I have to say after 50,000 miles it has been reliable and the gas mileage is better than advertised.
It’s not a true all wheel drive. The gas engine is only connected to the front wheels. The rear wheels only power by battery.
I’m a molar guy never had problems with any of my cars jest basic items going out my Chrysler 300 with 88 thousand miles on it 2017 still runs great looked at this model in Northern California of course it starts out at 43 grand and r/ t close to 50 grand to bad cause I’d be in that in a heartbeat!!

I'm waiting on the GLH version, no one seems to know when it'll be released
Regular or Premium gas ??
That front overhang ruins the whole look for me. Throws all the proportions off.
More torque in the CX-5 ?
Direct injection is a scam by the manufacturers who are making these engines on the cheap, which you cannot fix the carbon buildup on the valves, but they use direct injection anyways, in order to meet government mileage standards, but the customer gets screwed.
Only Clark Griswold would buy something like this; I'd sooner buy an old AMC Hornet than this... at least you'd get some good yuk-yuk-yuks with that.
Luv the way it looks, but if I am spending 30K plus, I'd get the Volvo XC40
36 miles on pure electric is hollow praise considering early 1900's electric cars were going 100 miles on a charge. And nobody wants to plug their car in when they get home. Clunky trany 😂 for 30k? And 50 grand? I hurt myself laughing. On that note great review for a polished Italian turd. You did your best guys.
I think the Hornet is the right vehicle for Dodge. Sure, who doesn't want a Hellcat in their driveway(or 3 like me😂)? But in terms of what buyers are needing right now and the fact that CUVs dominate, they had to do something to resuscitate the brand. Yes, it is pricey but so is a Mazda CX-30/CX-5/CX-50 in comparable trims. The R/T may be in fact the way to go because it qualifies for the PHEV tax credit, thus lowering its price against a the GT. And its performance and fuel economy would be superior. I love how unique it is over the dullards of the class.

@@austinkowalski5512 awesome! I was curious about things like road and wind noise? With it being based on the luxurious Tonale, I'd imagine it is above average in isolation in the class. But I'm sure its a hoot to drive!

Do you claim to have 3 hellcats because they keep breaking down or getting stolen?
Looks cool
This was cool years ago but really GM Tesla, Ford, and Nissan do the same thing with or without traffic day or night at hwy speeds oh you can't look at the screen in the console but you can benefit from there systems more
Avoid this car because the engine is direct injection, which means the valves will get coated with carbon residue and there is no easy fix for this defect.
Have you guys driven the Santa Cruz yet?? 😎👍👍

I've sat in the first one delivered in Houston, the interior feels very luxurious, way better than most Dodges. It maybe doesn't show on camera, but like the center LCD is higher resolution than I've seen in any recent competing products for example, with zero lag on the new uconnect OS. If you have an Alfa Romeo Tonale nearby and sit in that, its very similar to the Dodge.

Hi, Drew and Masan you both look cool in every var review of this Dodge Hornet looking great but I got a little disappointed about the Dodge has used hard plastic inside the cabin we can understand that price-wise dodge has done a good job however I've never seen this 35 thousands price range 2.l turbo inline-four nine-speed automatic transmission making 268 hp 295 pound-feet of torque which is awesome I liked this car a lot dodge spice up this segment than other segments thanks
Its a good review but not impressed by Dodge reliability or their 9 speed transmissions.

I was just about to say that. This coming from someone that used to have a 2020 Dodge Journey. I kept it until about 35K miles and decided to trade it in for something else. After hearing about the issues Dodge tends to have, I wanted to get rid of that ride lol. This Hornet looks alright, but I wouldn't spend one dollar on the thing myself.

Gladly take that chance. The 05 magnum I bought new in 04 is still holding up fine with 289k miles. Only issue it has was the gear shifter needed replacing a few years ago because it seized. Engine, transmission, electronics, all fine.

I have the 2023 Hornet GT Plus. Take care of your car and it'll take care of you.
Its size seems as if it would be comparable to the Mach E
It’s not worth what are asking for it should no more than 28k I never seen any of them on the road because nobody buying them especially the phev I don’t trust dodge like that I’d get a rav4 prime over the hornet ijs
Boooo, go back to coupons!!! Still love the video…
Nah, nice try Dodge, but too pricey for what it is.
I test-drove the GT Plus a couple of days ago: great acceleration, road feel, and steering. However, the major drawback that will prevent me from buying this car, which had promised to be right up my alley specs-and price-wise, is unbelievably poor ERGONOMIC design. I'm small, and yet, when I raised the seat all the way, which is my must seating position, I felt hemmed in. If you don't like to raise the seat, you'll have a hard time getting out because of the steering wheel sitting too low and being in your way, so you'll have to raise the wheel every time before exiting. Getting out of the car was hard because my behind, despite being skinny, was getting stuck in the vertical ,"sporty" side of the seat, which is meant to envelop your body while you're driving. Also, the combination of the leatherette and plastic material on the seat acted like Velcro during the exit from the car. There's more. When you open the door and try to to get in, you have to be very careful because you might seriously bump your head on the pillar between the driver's side window and the windshield. I've been shopping for and buying cars for decades, but I've never seen such an injury-prone ingress design flaw before. This is just another example of how car makers shoot themselves in the foot by not using common sense and doing enough customer research before putting a vehicle on the market.
I made my decision. Kona N for me. Lol.
Italian style meets Italian dependability... Uh which means total crap....
More HP and torque than a Jeep Compass
No one’s racing HRV’s
Hate it. This is an Alfa Romeo. Dodge was lazy as usual. It’s the same kind of badge engineering crap that made GM look ridiculous in the 80s. I mean, they literally did almost nothing to differentiate.
