nice to hear phrases such as "she's still only 18" coming from the mouth of the commentators nowadays, finally we're shifting towards a healthier culture in sports

@@Charmander009 no it's not, if the girls are not pushed to peak at 15 they don't need to train like freaks during their childhood and early teens therefore their bodies won't be destroyed by the time they're 20 this is why we say that the whole culture of the sports needs to change and as you age indeed you loose some stamina and endurece and there is when having a good coach that knows what he's doing is important, more reps and harsh training sessions are not the only way of getting improvement, actually it isn't even the most effective way! A 2 hours well planned with good drills, for the skill that you're trying to learn, training session can give you more improvements than a 6 hours long training session that only consists of the old idea of "repeat it a thousand times until you can pull it out somehow" that so many "coaches" appear to love so much. After you're past the age of 15 this training method becomes just a recipe for injures. As you get older you need to work smarter not harder and you'll be able to keep up with the younger ones no problem.

Men's competition is a very "high bar" but women's, why??

This competition is about the olympic qualification. The best woman at each aperatus already qualified (or their country qualified) for the olympics. Women only have 4 events so it's also easier to be good at every event. Men have 6 events and for example at Rings and High bar 2 completely different skills are needed. So the best ring workers are also only good at rings but at last world championships only the best ring worker got a ticket to the olympics. So here are now the second and third best ring worker competing getting the olympic ticket.

Chinese gymnasts should not be allowed to compete as they are not amateur athletes. To allow them to compete is such unfairness to other athletes who do their utmost making a balance between being gymnasts and being employees/students.
