A 4 banger would sound better. Also the fact that this... thing is mid engine. They should have built a Corvette, not a Ferrari.

Okay i can Understand People hate the Z06 GT3 R or C8 GTE because it's not a Crossplane V8 like the C7R But honestly i love this car, sound like a 458 GT3, and it's very loud, BIG 3 of GT3 with the Mustang and 720S ^^

AND the AMG GT3, Audi/lambo GT3, 911 GT3R. But props for mentioning the 720s aswell among them it's an unsung hero in terms of engine note. It's been good since the 12c chassis it was just not as noticeable with the 458, Z4, SLS, Gallardo, V12 vantage and 997 GT3 cars also making heavenly noises.

Honestly, I love the ZO6 qnd it's probably in my top 5 best sounding modern GT3 cars. The only 4 I'd pick over it are the Lexus (oddly slept on), the Vantage GT3 Evo (sounds so soothing and futuristic, but it also has the deep AMG growl), the mustang (🦅🦅🇺🇲🇺🇲), the 296 when you can actually hear it, and the AMG. I personally just love the sound of all the current GT3 cars, but those are my top 5

Not gonna lie, AM did a great job making that Mercedes engine sound in the Vantage GT3 unique. But yeah like you alluded to, it's softer but definitely has the amg growl

Looking forward to seeing this car in person. I wasn't a huge fan of the GTE version, but I think the GT3 looks better. The yellow fronted livery looks great.

I very much prefer the sound of the C7R. As a big Corvette GT fan since the GT1 days, I'm really struggling to develop any sense of attachment to C8, and personally I think the blend of American thunder with the mid-engine platform would give it a more unique character, as now it just feels like it's trying to be like all the other mid-engine supercars. Reminds me a bit of a younger brother trying to imitate their older brother instead of being their own person.

My sense of attachment came after I saw it in road Atlanta. The Cadillacs, 911 and the C8R would over power everything.

Idk if that's the right analogy, it's older siblings did have the traditional v8 layout. It is it's own car because it's going against the grain with the cross plane layout it has.

GT3R still takes it for me. But I'll have to admit it sounds much better than what I had anticipated

I don't think it sounds great on camera but I think it might sound better in person, it doesn't do it for me. I used to hear the C6R and C7R testing at Mosport a while back and this really pales in comparison to those cars.

The Sound of the former C7 Was way better.

C8 lost the Chevy Thunder. C8 is a great car but doesn't vibrate you and the ground like the previous Gens.

Brings me 458 GT3 vibes

i wasn't much of a fan of the C8.R now THIS however... yes please.

Not at all mate They are both completely different... The 488 GT3 sounds a bit like the 488 GTE, both turbo V8 so it can't sound the same as the Corvette

The best? Naa that goes to the Mustang, I put the Porsche second and the Z06 third.

See, flat plane V8s need to have a good exhaust on them to really sound great. These cars do not have good exhausts. A cross-plane V8 does not have this problem.
