2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV with Google Built-in infotainment system

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Blazer EV features Chevy’s latest charging, infotainment and driver-assistance technologies that work together holistically, offering customers greater convenience, comfort and confidence when it comes to making the transition to an all-electric vehicle.
It all starts when the driver enters the Blazer EV - there’s no button to push to start the vehicle. With hands-free start, the driver simply pushes the brake pedal after closing the door and the Blazer EV is ready to go. The key fob authorizes the hands-free start system.

Can we use our cell phone data plan to connect the infotainement system? Is there a sim card slot somewhere?

The infotainmrent system does not require a sim card or wifi plan, the hot sport does.

@@autosjaviermota im asking because im waiting for my 2LT in a month or 2 and I was scared that I would need to subscribe to something like OnStar in order to make my car connected to internet. I mean we all have internet data plan on our cellphone

The screens and software look great, but im not a fan of this at all. I hate that i would be forced into some sort of subscription plan, even if it is eight years down the road. I would never buy one used because i would absolutely refuse the subscription. I suspect a lot of people are this way. I would never buy one new because they are way too expensive, and will obviously depreciate rapidly because no one will want to buy a used car that forces them to pay a subscription to use what they already are paying for with their phones. I am a current reservation holder for the equinox EV, but Im fairly certain im going to cancel it due to this, and GM pricing them well above the promised 30k entry point.

2 hours charging, if the chargers work and there is no queue waiting for the charger.

So I am an Android person, but so many Americans are not Android users. I think that they made a fundamental mistake not catering to the apple crowd.

everyone seems to forget not offering phone projection has cost Tesla absolutely nothing- they have never offered it and apparently never plan to do so. Many reviewers have complained about it- but it has not slowed down sales to date. I expect you will see more of this going fwd. Phone projection is NOT integrated with the actual vehicle so it forces drivers to jump back and forth from the native system to projection to do things. This is not sustainable when modern cars are decreasing reliance on buttons and forcing you to use the screen for almost everything.

It has more to do with the fact that Android Automotive Android Auto, whilst the UI/UX are similar, they are incredibly different. Apple does not have an OS version of Apple Carplay (which is just a projection of iOS when connected to a vehicle's USB port or Bluetooth connection).

Yeah no thanks. Let's not beat around the bush here. GM did this so they can use customer data for their own analytics. As of now you can't use your own phone and apps as GM wants you to use their self contained system. If the car doesn't have Android Auto or Apple Carplay then I'll move on to the next car manufacturer that does.

One of the reasons I chose my original Chevy vehicle was due to their Apple CarPlay integration. I love almost everything about this vehicle and then they add this massive deal breaker. They have other vehicles, with the same google automotive set up, that still have Apple Car Play and Android Auto enabled. Hopefully they'll come to their senses and being them to this vehicle.

No Apple Car Play means all of my Apple Music has to go thru Bluetooth. Yeah that's a deal breaker. The only reason I bought my original Chevy was for the Apple Car Play and the crazy thing is, Chevy hasn't shown us anything that makes removing Apple Car Play make sense, especially when you have it in other models with this same Google Automation set up. Disappointing.
