Getting more touches for the offensive weapons is all about moving the sticks to create more opportunities. Which means an attitude similar to Dan Campbell at Detroit. You don't punt the ball every time it is fourth down. You extend drives with creativeness, taking risks, and innovation.

Taking this though a step further, Dan Campbell often decides that he is in four down territory on second down which means he doesn't wait until third down to make the decision. In other words, and as an example, he may hypothetically think in the terms of "It is third down and I have two more downs to gain eight yards because I'm going for it on fourth down." Hence, he doesn't feel compelled to gain all eight yards on third down. He will settle for five yards on third down knowing that he will attempt to gain the other three on fourth down. This is what I mean be innovative thinking. He manages his risk taking by distributing it into more manageable situations.

If The O Line Can Stay Healthy And The Same For K9 I Could See Kenneth Walker Having A Thousand Yard Season!

Walker is incredibly good at bouncing runs to the outside when the inside is stacked up. How does this stat account for that? Is that considered on outside run or an inside run? It was designed to be an inside run but ended up an outside run. Often a very effective outside run, because of all of the bodies that are stacked up inside and his insane ability to cut and beat the edge contain guy one on one.

Crazy that it seems they threw more screen passes to JSN than K9 last year. Waldron and the offense was so confusing last year. Went from inept to unstoppable, from amazing play design to what in the world was that.. If this defense is half as good as it’s hyped up to be, it should be the start of something good in Seattle. A lot of the free agent pick ups I was like, who? So many questions still, but they did address them, safety linebacker oline and tackling. There was too many missed tackles last year to ever be better than average. Hopefully a bunch of these guys did Greco wrestling. Sambo.. jiujutsu. Kung fu. Something to get better hands on people. I’ve been saying for decades lineman need to wrestle, it doesn’t hurt for any position really. A little wax on wax off at the wide out position, can’t jam the gingerbread man.. and look at the Steelers. Drafted two guys I loved that were HS state wrestling champs… was hoping we took Cade stover. And I really liked Payton Wilson. His first two steps stood out almost like Witherspoon, it’s rare but sometimes people see the game slower, and react just a bit ahead of everyone else

It looks like his runs were designed to go inside and he just chooses to bounce them out and makes things happen

Outside of Seattle throwing 50% of balls to JSN behind the line, the fact they kept jamming Walker up the middle like he was a power back was maddening. I know the OL had some injuries, but Jeez... wth happened to when they got him in space in 2022?

His high usage on inside runs has pretty similar splits the last two years. I think the Hawks run blocked a bit better in 2022, which accounts for the main difference in overall production.
