I have the X3 M40i in Brooklyn Grey and just did a 1000km road trip to Tadoba from Hyd. Phenomenal on the highway, took bad roads and under construction roads with aplomb. Didn't tire a bit after 7 hour drives and best part none could over take me (they had to wait for a traffic jam to catch up) just love it ❤! It's a keeper for me. Have driven the M340i and agree with you both. But for our conditions M40i is the king !

My parents own the x3 m40i in the same colour too lol, but we had covered close to 200km in one day which is not a lot but we weren’t that friendly with the throttle. Once we reached home and opened the hood, I saw a little bit of coolant which had escaped from the reservoir and had splashed to the engine cover and the strut bars. We contacted the dealership and they said it’s nothing to worry about. Was wondering if a fellow owner has faced such issues.

340i is fast, but if you want speed while being efficient, then 30d all the way.

Nope no overheating issues.

Some of the X3 M40i we've inspected came with the 2-port Head and 2-port Turbo just like the A90 Supra. While the A91 Supra and the M340i got the 6-Port head. That's why the X3 M40i is low on power, due to the 2-port head and the 2-port Turbo.

Adaptive suspension is brilliant. My x3 30i grips like no one’s business when I leave it in adaptive.

I agree with you guys. In this country the extra 20 lakhs can save you a lot if anyone daily drives a b58 in india. The added ground clearance helps anytime there is rain or many city roads. Added with the ergos and the boot the x340i is definitely a unique ride well suited as a more daily driver. All you need is about 1cr on road and a stage 1/2 tune. Edit: you guys cover almost everything. Great job.

Can you guys review the Lexus Nx 350h?

Been an m340i fanatic since it came out, and we were planning to buy it in the next year, but I recently went to the showroom and actually sat in one and it was the most underwhelming feeling I have ever had while sitting in a car, maybe I have consumed too much content around it, but in terms of what the interior offers and how cramped it feels, it would be very difficult to justify it as a 90lakh sedan, a comfort oriented sedan like a 6 series gt or a performance oriented vehicle like m2 comp makes more sense than getting something so much lacking in both areas, this car has only one purpose and thats the riding feel, but like you mentioned when you aren't living alone, choosing this would be tough. My personal opinion, could be different for someone else but you have to sit in this car to know what I am saying.

You should pit X3 M40i and X5 40i against each other. The difference in ex-showroom prices is just about 8 lakhs. And the premium in the price tag is justified by the space and premium feel that the X5 has to offer, which compensates for half a second delay in crossing 0-100. Handling is something that can be compared in depth. You may also consider X5 30d in this comparison as it brings in the aspect of fuel economy.

0-100 talks are a joke on our roads & traffic sense. I drive a x3 30i & it has more power than I’d ever need. Good review because these vehicles are rare to find, hence not easy to source for a review. B58 with zf is a terrific motor. So is B48. Bmw engineers have mastered the sync of drive train!

Where’s the adaptive suspension coverage? There’s a reason why you’re not invited to media drives. You drive specsheets - not the bloody car! Push it a little in ghat sections and show that coverage!

Let’s be honest No point of x3 m40i at that price range just go for the X5 40i does the 0-100 in just 5 seconds which is 0.1 seconds slower than the X3 M40i plus the engine in the X3 m40i produces less bhp it sits at around 350bhp compared the m340i at 380.

@@wagyubeef925 the only advantage the x3 m40i has over the m340i is it’s practicality and ride quality because of the air suspension. X5 being bigger offers more practicality so that really overshadows the USP of x3.

Sedans are actually a rear Cars. As of My opinion.

It's a shame that BMW skimps on electronic dampers for their Indian buyers for both these incredible vehicles. The M340i abroad has the electronic dampers as standard. I mean that's what we need to make car comfortable for a daily driver.

But why should not anyone go with BMW x5 with same engine, bigger size, more features?
