I have heard a lot of horror stories about the build quality of recent Baileys. The cables in the wardrobe look very bodged it would have cost just pennies to put a bit of plastic trunking in the corner. Otherwise It looks a nice little van, another nice honest review Andy.

Great video. Having just swapped vans (06 Pageant for a nearly newish Alpine 2) we had the opportunity to window shop some of the new vans. Even those stratospherically outside our price range. Although cometically all very nice, the quality of fittings is so hit and miss. But the design elements seem to be trailing not leading. Apart from LEDs and USBs everything is almost indistinguiable from our 17 year old van. The industry could definitely do with an injection from some external influence. I was surprised to still see things like ovens and microwave rather than e.g. combined multifunction microwave/oven/grill/airfryer. Seems all still a bit behind the curve.

If you are looking to buy one of these caravans, check under the front small corner seats and along the front bulkhead floor area as the one we bought was pouring in water. We also had water coming in from the bottom of the small front window onto the floor. Is this really good enough for a caravan two months old, build quality is suspect also. Have a really good inspection before parting with your cash!.

H Paul - sorry to hear of that and of course there should be none of this - a dealer told me of two new Pegs he had both leaking water in central front window and poor quality. All makers will suffer with duff production now and again but hope this isnt a common problem. Hope you have managed to get it sorted and thanks for letting us know.

Hi Greg no I have sorted it myself these dealers are not really interested in warranty work as an ex-Bailey employee recently told me , they get paid much more from joe public than Bailey. I know wo't has been done rather than have a dealer just throw silicon everywere. On a more serious note we had a bailey Cadiz 2018 until a few months ago and had issue with water soaking into the underside of the floor via the bottom awning channel. (a common problem with bailey so it seems). So if you purchase look regularily at the underside as well as under seats and lockers. View a video of a y-tube guy called vagabond. excellent content.@@gregsjaguar46

i still think they are great looking caravans . but like i have said before, no front locker. fridge vented into awning which greatly reduces its efficiency on hot days when you really need it .( the fridge is fitted here because there is no front locker for the gas bottles). and yes i think a high level brake light should be the law.

Hi Andy. You have a GT60 I had a GT65 & GT70 I thought the GT65 was the best caravan I’ve ever had don’t know why I traded it. But sense then everyone has been made cheaper and not as good. No I think it’s cost cutting gone too far for price would not buy on I’ll stay with my 3015 Coachman again. But good video well done.

Hi Andy, another great honest review. I'm not a fan of that type of front window at all, a bit like looking out of the cockpit of an aeroplane especially now that there's no curtains. I do agree with you about the polystyrene coving and the untidy cables. On the whole though it's a nice bright van and I do like the door design even though it would benefit from glass.

You make some very good critical points in this video. Whilst I am a huge fan of Bailey, I have a few critical points of my own to add. Some of which, would apply to other manufacturers also. 1. Armrest bolster cushions. - I would much rather see two more bolster cushions for the sofas rather than have two scatter cushions. Scatter cushions can be bought easily anywhere, but trying to find bolster cushions to match the existing ones in a caravan is far, far more difficult. I would even be happy if extra bolster cushions were cost options on lower grade vans in a manufacturer's range lineup. 2. Front locker - Whereas Coachman have a unique design that sacrifices the central part of the front locker to allow the front of the locker to be flush with the edge of the sofas, Bailey have failed to take advantage of not having a front locker or having a design where the front locker is less obtrusive into the seating area. I absolutely detest the old-fashioned looking locker designs in UK caravans that protrude into the living area making it impossible to sit comfortably in the corner of the sofa nearest the front windows. To Bailey's credit on the Discovery range, they have dispensed with it altogether. Yes, there are advantages to the front locker, but I am only really willing to live with it happily if it is done like Coachman have done. 3. Bathroom slimline storage - Here in Japan, our home bathroom units (which resemble somewhat in depth the one above the toilet in the Bailey) typically have a removable low stainless steel bar to prevent items from falling out when the doors are opened. One reason being that they are shallow and we live in earthquake prone country. The UK and many other European countries may not experience earthquakes, but your caravan will experience similar as it is being towed down the road. They really should make more of a lip or add a removable thin stainless bar (it isn't thick and just slots into the shelf) to prevent items from falling out when arriving on site. Conversely, home kitchen unit manufacturers in Japan should take a look at the locking mechanisms in motorhomes and caravans and add them to our units so that the doors don't fly open in the event of an earthquake - so give and take. 4. Third brake light - This is my biggest gripe about Bailey caravans. They really need to add a third brake light to the rear of their caravans. The Alutech construction should not be a barrier to this and a re-design of their rear bumpers should easily allow for this. It is ridiculous in 2023 that they are not adding this proven, simple and highly effective safety feature.

Wow - thanks for this Andrew - great to hear such constructive views I still like overhead lockers and the continental vans have massive ones that you bang your head on - well I have anyhow!! great to hear the differences here to Japan too - thank you for that detailed comment-thank you for watching
