Skied on this for the first time this season. Absolutely brilliant ski can’t get enough of it. It’s such an incredible experience, to be on a ski and you get to something steep and glinty but as long as it’s smooth, it’s like No worries! Never once felt like I would wash out. Not once.

I demoed this last spring in Andorra, and have to say it was the most fun I've ever had on groomers. As a former racer It has all the characteristics of a race stock ski, but with a turning radius that makes sense for free skiing. GS skis often need to be going at a speed unsafe for public use, and slalom skis aren't fun on long runs. I tested the 170cm and I could force it into larger slalom turns If I needed to, but just railed tight GS all day long. No problem opening them up if you want. The difference between this, and other "high performance" carving skis was immense. I demoed the Atomic redster x9 WB the same day, and the e-race was way better carver. No X9S to test, but I can't imagine it better being a pure carver than the E-Race.

Hey, thank you for the review! Would you rather recommend buying the 2023 or 2024 version? Is there a difference worth mentioning?

Hi ski essentials. Do you have a review of the redster g8, and how does it compare to the g9 with the revoshock s, where the g8 has revoshock c?

We didn't ski the G8 this year, but it looks very similar to the 9 save for the steel/carbon divide. There's a few more mm's of width in the G8 as well, giving it a slightly wider platform to stand on as well as a shorter radius. I'd imagine the G9 feels a lot more stable and powerful at speed while the 8 has more pop to it and is more comfortable in medium turns at more moderate speeds.

Thanks for the reply. How do you think this would compare to the rossi hero elite lt ti?

Which length of this ski would you recommend for me? I am experienced (not expert) and 187 cm tall. Thank you!

I'd go 177 in that ski. It's very stable so I don't think the 182 is necessary for your stats.

My height is 186 cm n weight 175 pounds, and I am an advance skier who tend to practice n master my carving turns. Should I go with 177 cm or 182 cm? Thank you so much Jeff.

If you're not itching for top speed and long turns, I'd go 177.

While the G9 has a bit wider of a waist, it also has a longer turn shape, falling more into the mid-radius GS style. The X9S has a tighter arc and a narrower waist, so it's more of that slalom carver. If you're looking to max out on speed, go with the G9, but for more across the fall line turns, the X9S is about as powerful and reactive as it gets.

It's a whole lot of ski for moguls. While they're narrow so they're quick edge to edge, they're also heavy and stiff.

you need a better skier for demos. sorry, it's true. these are super high performance skis with an intermediate skier on them. these turns are the opposite of what the skis do.

This is certainly a high-performance ski. The footage in this clip was taken from a tester at our ski test. We often do this on purpose so that people can see how different skiers approach different skis. It works both ways, too, sometimes with a highly skilled skier on something that's below their level.
