Superjet is what you buy when you want family to have fun and not be intimidated by a standup.

I have the superjet and it's pretty modified and my neighbor has the sxr1500, we live on the lake and have our own buoy course so we ride alot. The sxr1500 is a beast and it's stock, the superjet is fun, but his 13 year old son eats me alive on his sxr.

What's it feel like to live on the lake and your back yard is water? Sounds like paradise to me!!

I love my 750 Kawasaki standup I could never ride a four stroke stand up just too big and bulky plus I love the smell of the two-stroke two-stroke all the way easy to work on fun to put all the aftermarket stuff on and just not as big

The superjet I had I went all RIVA everything but that was like 2000 era. Now I’d go ProWatercraft since they have the the sponsons I run. And go with RIVA Pro Lite steering system and Skat Trak trim system if you can find em

i own both, love them both, really depends on what a rider is looking for, SXR is for buoys, and not much else, where the superjet is more jack of all trades, just depends on what you plan on using it for. If i want to go fast, sxr, if i'm just out to freeride, or typical hooligan activities, i grab the superjet. I put a lot of riders on my skis, new or newer riders prefer the superjet, but intermediate and experienced riders like the SXR

So your description applies to the previous 2 stroke Superjet and SXR as well. The superjet 701 is way more playful and jumps waves better and feels more like a snowboard in a way. SXR 800 is heavier feeling, more power and corners hard. I have both , but I ride the Superjet more, and I just bought a 4 stroke Superjet because it harks to the previous fun factor. I agree they are in a different class totally. Both of them are awesome in different ways and its good that they are so we can choose!

I have a 750sxi and a 23 SJ I love the SJ it’s a blast but it requires about $1k of mods to make it fun.. stock was very sluggish in the turns and then obviously the exhaust to get some fun noises

Ive always been a superjet guy and couldn't wait anymore and ended up buying the sxr a month before the superjet came back out, ill say ive been so satisfied with my sxr and have no regrets.. its heavy but with 160hp it feels weightless..

160HP is SWEET but how does 550lbs not feel heavy, I rode the JS 550 back in the 80's it weighs 250lbs I did lots of wave jumping, I could even load it in the back of a hatch back by myself.

  • @popeyesspinach1128

@rcguyusvi9206 that 550 weighed 250 with 30hp, 550lbs with 160hp is literally 5× more powerful. It's a sobering letdown when any wave under 3ft you just blow through so then you start carving and is unbelievable how planted this ski is! I miss my square nose that used to jump out of the water in flat water when I was 20.. But if I was 20 with the sxr 1500 I would be dead.. ha

@@popeyesspinach1128 acutually the 89 550s had 41hp and with bigger carb and a performance pipe mine had about 50hp, but it's still nothing compared to 160hp lol. I guess I'll have to ride the 1500 to see what all the talk is about.

My '07 Hydrospace S4 is a sweet, 4-stroke standup (first one actually). Very fast and pretty heavy... plows through chop compared to my 650sx and 750 sxi-pro. It's slightly larger hull and heavier weight make it easier for new riders to get up on. Cheers!

I’d buy SX-RS just cause it’s more stable has more power and comes with rear sponsons and then go buy race pole and blowsion steering and trim kit and ridding plate. Then fatty sponsons up front and go race it. But lot of the kommanders engine are the SXR engines that’s why you notice it was real close feeling. Fastpower GP1 you can buy for like 20K and then SXR 10K and have them guy it out and stick onto the GP1 that’s what I’m doing

Question on the newer bikes. With my old 750 I had to buy the following just to ride fast as hell. New ride plate, new intake, new stainless steel prop, new bars, new pole, new pull throttle, new pipe, etc. ... or the bike sucked, especially in choppy waters. Does that still hold true with the newer bikes? At almost 60 I'm not looking to ride as fast as I did 25 years ago, but also not looking to ride a turd either.
