bought my 2021 MT-03 last year used with 1200 miles for $3400. I will never trade it or sell it for any less. It is worth so much more than that with how capable that bike is. I kept it for teaching family and commuting.

Its a good commuter bike, its running fun after 9000rpm. 3400? Id go 4k
I had an MT09 in California. I loved it with all my heart. Now I have a 2016 MT03. It came with very low mileage like 5000 kilometers. I live in Thailand now and the MT-03 is nearly perfect for this area. I just whipped around the mountains of Northern Thailand for 6 days and covered about 1200 kilometers. It road like a dream. Do I wish I had a more powerful motorcycle? Yes. Do I think about it when I ride the MT03? Nah…

I love the MT-03 so fucking smooth, approachable and honestly just raw feeling in terms of shifting and all that, you feel everything on it in my opinion. Had it for about 8 months and put almost 7k miles on it, It's a great bike, cheap, reliable and just overall agreat bike to have in ur garage. no complaints whatsoever. Love it, I'm 6'3 and feel pretty comfortable on it. i don't race it, just commute and go on some spirited twisty rides every so often but that's what it's made for in my opinion

The MT-03 is a great bike. I'm a big fan of it and it is plenty for many riders, beginner and experienced. The R6 throttle tube switch IS A MUST!!!! I sold the one that I used to own for the same price that I purchased it for.

@@ahahaa1602 i've heard it's less slop and a shorter throw, so no arthritis trying to go wide open and you don't got a huge deadzone. that's only what i've heard so i can't confirm much if not any of it

@@ahahaa1602 MT03 Owner here. As Attrition8415 said, there's less dead zone, so the throttle response feels better. With the R6 Throttle tube, full throttle is now sooner, think what used to only be 75% throttle with the stock tube, will now be 100% throttle so you need less wrist twist. Definitely the best mod for the bike by far.

@@ahahaa1602It's shorter to full throttle, once you get some experience you'd probably want that, but ideally Stock mt03-->mt03 with r6 throttle-->upgrade to a bigger bike (if you want one). You'll be more used to the twitchy throttles often found in sport bikes if you choose to upgrade
Put 14k miles on mine in the 11 months ive owned it. Great bike. 62 mpg/ 220 miles per tank, $28mth insurance, easy to work on. Biggest gripe is it lacks confident passing power on back roads and the couple times on the highway its high revs at 70-75mph.

That Yamaha blue makes all bikes look very desirable.
Yes finally a great review video on the MT-03. I was looking to getting this as my first bike as well.
Being short and wanting to ride, thank you for this
This is the bike I have it’s so much fun! I rode it all around my city. So fun! Definitely glad I purchased it! I’m 5’7 and I can flat foot it!
My wife had one of those from 2018 with full akrapovic race line and it was sooo much fun with all the pops and bangs
Took my final class road lesson on one of these, in the flat grey, orange livery. Really smooth bike. I think everyone wanted it out of the several varieties they had and I elbowed my to it lol.
Got my 2021 MT-03 for my first/commuter bike and I love it
had a mt03 for my first motorcycle i loved it
Why I like the un-updated MT-03 is the price. You talk about bikes like the Aprilia, that is a different price bracket. I have owned R1’s and fireblades. At 58, this is an ideal bike just to go out in the Texas summer and enjoy a ride.
Excellent video review. I really appreciate the well-spoken understanding of your thoughts while riding the bike. I'm a short leg guy, and this review helps me a lot to put this bike in my shortlist along with the Kawa Z400 or 500
I'm 45 and I really want to learn how to ride, I've been looking for a new Motorcycle and I am alone in picking what is and what isn't, Thankyou for this review.
I have the old H402. With a remap and exhaust and airfilter. Its a good commuter and a lot of fun out of 33Kw. Also putting Michelin road 6 on the bike transforms the trust in the corners.
I got this exact same bike as my first bike about a month ago. I'm really enjoying it so far. I figure I'll ride it for a year, and at the point I'll decide whether I want to keep it and upgrade, or trade it in and upgrade.
This reminds me of my old Ninja 250 I had in college. Underrated for sure. Very rev-happy, flickable, and more powerful than most people think.
sold mine a month ago. miss it so much. new bike comes in spring. had it for three years. many thing i wished this bike did better but easiest bike to drive out there if you ask me. total no brainer.

MT03 is coming to India probably in December '23. I would like to know about the smoothness of the engine. Is there any vibration or buzzynes in the handlebar and footpegs. What mileage u r getting?
Hey bro. I am planning to buy a bike. Tell me which one is best to go for. Duke 390 gen 3 or mt03. Answers are appreciated.
Bought my MT-03 as my first bike last year, light teal blue one which I'm surprised i don't see that color more often
Yo what??? Im looking at the bike im thinking about getting and totally forgot u lived in Austin Tx u passed kinda by neighborhood at 5:30 😂 keep up the good work 👍🏾
Just a quick question: Can you also rev match on non-slipper clutch motorcycles? You said release the clutch a bit slower but what's more effective?
I’m really thinking about getting this one or the new one for my first bike.
I just got one in sac for $1k off as my first bike. For $4k plus tax and fees this thing is a steal.
113mph stock I've went, but am quite skinny guy although still very impressive
Man I wish weather was this good in my country still
'Small' bikes are great here in asia (SG) where there are different classes of motorcycle licenses. Yamaha's smaller bikes are great 'in-between' platforms as we slowly work towards the liter bikes.
@yammienoob, Does mt-03 have vibrations on the handlebar above a certain rpm limit? Yamaha is going to launch mt-03 in India at a much higher price compared to ktm 390 (around 1000 dollars higher). Does it make sense to pay extra for mt-03? Is it really that much refined? Look forward to your reply.

I wish I could get this bike, this bike is enough for me.❤️
Oh dear, I need a Texas green card and now you are giving away my favourite number one dream bike. The naked R3, I love the R3 but I just hate fairings. GOD some one is going to be blessed, no tech at all it's just a bike, just the way I love em.
just a curious question would the naked bike more comfortable on long rides than sports type like on the R3? I'm planning to get my first bike but not decided wether to get R3 or MT03

still the same as the 2020 version besides new colors. engine is the same as in the old model so even older and you feel that. out of those three i would buy the mt-03 again and again.
Fortunately for me 300 to 400cc bikes are more than enough here where I'm from
Is this bike friendly to someone who’s 6’3? If it isn’t does any know if it’s possible to install a taller seat? Thank you in advance!

At 5'10" I felt way to cramped on it, on the Honda cb300r I felt way better but that has a much weaker engine, then again the Honda is way lighter and is fun af , neither would be good highway bikes.
This seems like the perfect replacement for my Z125 Pro, which was just stolen after over two years of ownership. I live in NYC where the speed limit is 25mph and the nature of my job has me on the bike for hours at a time within the city. I absolutely loved the Z125 Pro for several reasons, but having something larger would be really nice for riding outside of the city while being small enough to maneuver around the city all day.
kawasaki z400 is a pretty good bike, good-looking, decent amount of power probably. it also looks like a good choice, bit higher range of price though
I like that the engine is a 2 cylinder, To Me; That is something that I can appreciate...I've always believed that Twins were smoother running than a "Thumper"...
Not the mt03, but im looking forward to starting on an r3 this upcoming summer!

Not the right video for this perhaps but, I think Yamaha might make an R4 M with a crossplane 4 cylinder in response to the ZX4RR.
I would’ve loved one of those as my first bike. Instead, I had a bloated, mushy 250.

MT 07 would probably feel better for you, im also n the ralle side at 6' 1" 225lbs. I sat on the MT03 t the dealership, it felt kinda small and cramped but not too bad. I sat on the MT-07 right after and it felt perfect. Bought the 07, very approachable for new rider, great power, super easy to ride ND doesn't feel intimidating to me at all. Full disclosure I have ridden before 30+ years ago on a dirt bike but haven't been on one since, the 07 is fantastic. Confusing. Another tester said that this was a suitable bike for BIG riders.
I live with a philosophy : Grow out of your first bike’s , You will live longer , my first street bike was 50cc in 1972 my first race bike was 50 cc then 125,250,500, and they the end of the 70s I was racing a 750 two-stroke on the Isle of Man that had less power and speed than my current 600cc bike ,,, (66 years old ) still riding hard
I'm mt03 owner since 2019. if you compare it to cfmoto 450sr and aprillia 457 the mt is nothing. Yamaha did the 300/250cc dirty. all the big cc R and MT series even the tiny 125/150cc have a delta box frame and slipper clutch (sorry mt07 looks like you will be joining the featureless club). and if you straight away compare only the engine to 450sr and 457 it will be more irritating because all mt series above mt03 use crossplane but Yamaha cant make smaller cc of CP2 for years. but if we talk about the price that is a different story but still Yamaha did the 300/250 R and mt series dirty
But you just told KZread.... Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of "not telling KZread"?
