The X3 looks cool, that colour is really interesting, similar to what car toys had many years back.

For those commenting on the laziness of the transmission after gear change, just take one of this babies out for a spin on the highway and also start off from a traffic light and see what it can do. All 3 modes Eco, Comfort and Sport are fab!

They must have added to the opfs! I have the 2021 X3M and the sound in stock was quite loud (Aus version) I also managed a 3.8 0-100km/h on my first run on a draggy when it was stock

Mate I had a X3M 2019 Australian spec and it was quiet as it already had the PPF back then. It was so much quieter than my 2018 X3M40i, which did not have PPF. I can assure that yours definitely has PPF. The X3M in the states, like most euro vehicles, do not have PPF and sound great!

@V C yes I think we do have opfs too on the x3m. However, I think they're different to the Euro version opfs. The x3m (pre lci) is quiet on the inside but quite loud on the outside (Aus version). I have a couple clips of mine when it was stock. The 2018 x3 m40i was just perfect sound wise. I have now added a midpipe and the car sounds fantastic inside and out.. a must-have mod on the x3m!

Wir haben den x3m vor 1 woche ca bekommen und der Verkäufer meinte das die volle Power erst zwischen 5-10 tausend km kommt also hast du recht mit deiner Vermutung

Ich hab den Komfortzugang und eine Anhängerkupplung. Normalerweise geht die Öffnung vom Kofferraum mit dem Fuß auch in dieser Kombination. Beim X3M geht es irgendwie nicht. Gibt auch kein Menupünkt zum einstellen - ist das in diesem wegen der Anhängerkupplung nicht möglich oder hat der X3M sowas generell nicht?

God I love the ''old'' interior of bmw, buttons and stuff, kinda sad to see how new X5 and other models are inside.

Taillights are off during day. Only the DRL in front are on during the day.

a very fast truck, very expensive, but above all not usable, given the limits, the controls, the speedometers. Nice to give us some acceleration every now and then, stop.

Yes. The X3M is surprisingly quiet & comfortable, yet it’s very capable from a dynamic perspective.

Maximum torque of an engine is in the low to mid rpm range, not high rpm where you use your engine when running 100-200. The horsepower is all that matters when speaking about acceleration.

Why is this car not fitted with the Driving Assistant Professional?

A lot of slip with those winter tyres - should easily be getting around 3.3-3.5 in summer tyres. You should be getting low 9's - even with the LCI. My LCI X4M is good for 9.1 100-200.

It's hard to comprehend how fast this car is. I saw one was cruising, and then a scat pack flew by must have been doing like 75 miles per hour this thing stepped on it, caught up and left the scat behind! I was shocked!

Need to spool longer before you launch. Use the built in gauges to see when you're full.

Arent you suppose to drive the car at maximum 4-5k rpm the the first 1000km? then get it serviced with oil change etc before you can drive it full throttle? the engine needs this i think before its able to deliver promised peformance.

I had the run-in service on mine done around 1500 miles if I remember rightly. The technician told me that the car is on reduced power until they carry out the service. I'm guessing they do an update on the ECU. He also said it would sound louder. I didn't notice the sound, and it was hard to tell if it was quicker as I was driving at a snail pace for the first 1500 miles anyway😆. However, I'm sure he said he already had 5000 km on the car, so it would have already had the service 🤷‍♂️

Er sieht etwas langsam aus. Mein LCI macht auf Winterreifen 3,6 auf 100 und 100-200 immer 8,9 bis 9,2. Auf Sommerreifen sind es 3,5 und 8,7 bis 8,9. Meiner wirkt auch etwas bissiger, aber vielleicht streut er auch etwas mehr nach oben. Sieht trotzdem sehr gut aus, in der Farbe 👍

Nicht mal wenn es bergab geht, du einen fast leeren Tank hast + Sommerreifen wirst du bei unter 9sek 100-200km/h bleiben. Ein serienmäßiger X3 M braucht ca. 9,2-9,9sek je nach Wetter, Reifen und Tankstand.

As an X4M owner I think 3.8 is not a 'langsam' time by any means. Too many factors would affect the time. Temperatures, tire temperatures, the road surface, the slope, the gas type, the way the driver build up boost and other stuff. But I agree that in perfect runs with stock summer tires Michelin PS4S it is able to run 3.5. Mine came with Continental CSC6 tires and some other cars came with P0 which are not as fast.

Ich habe noch einen Screenshot von einer Messung, allerdings keine Ahnung, wie man hier ein Foto hochladen kann. Gemessen ist es mit einer App. Die mag nicht so genau sein, wie eine Box, aber 1 ganze Sekunde wird sie sicher nicht abweichen. Gemessen auf der A7, HH, Auffahrt Schnelsen Nord in Richtung Norden. Steil abwärts geht es da auf jeden Fall nicht. War eine Messung aus dem Stand, bis 287, da kam dann Verkehr, aber viel mehr wäre da auch nicht gekommen. Waren 3,5 und 8,9, im August letzten Jahres (nachts). Mir geht es auch nicht so sehr um meine 8,9, sondern um die 9,9 aus dem Video, die mir eigentlich zu langsam erscheinen. Meiner ist jetzt 11 Monate alt und von knapp 23 tkm waren bestimmt 15 tkm AB, nicht selten auch recht zügig. Vielleicht muss der gelbe Renner nur noch ein paar km mehr abspulen 👍 Wünsche euch auf jeden Fall noch viel Spaß damit.

They told me at Volvo that the car would run at full power at 7500km, and it was true. Same with BMW/Mercedes (my guess), you better not override this.

Carwow has proven that every vehicle is faster when shifted manually vs. letting the slushbox do it.

I'm afraid that conclusion is a bit off. It's faster for the cars to start in the best gear, yes, but if you put the transmission into sport mode, it will usually be in the best gear already. Especially these M cars, which have various and configurable levels of gearbox aggressiveness in each of the eco/sport mode.

Yea surprised how much slower 100-200 it is than the facelift F-Pace SVR you tested. Pretty much helps me decide not to trade into an X3M Comp from my SVR. I’ll probably go back to a sports car and look at an M3 or M4 Comp when my time with Jag is up

@@v12-s65 I’d love to keep it but I can’t afford to buy out the lease in 2024 haha. I traded in my 2020 SVR for the facelift at the top of the market and got all my money back I put into the 2020, but in 2024 I don’t think Jag will still be selling the 5.0 V8 as they prepare to be EV only by 2025, so I’m looking at options :(

@@v12-s65 Ooh, that’s good to know! Maybe one more then or an F-Type R if I can scrounge the cash. I’ll keep that in mind lol! I disabled the exhaust valves for loud mode all the time since the newest software keeps the valves closed at most times even in loud mode due to noise laws

U need to drive 10k km and than to make that maintenace to use full performance Btw, can you use the other speedometer? This is boring

Ich bin eigentlich BMW Fan. Dieser und einige andere „Spitzenmodelle“ klingen leider immer mehr nach Tuningbude. Warum? Die BMW Reihenzylinder hatten mal einen eleganten, unaufdringlichen und samtig präsenten Sound. Schade, diesen Genuss gibt es nur noch in wenigen Modellen auf dem Markt. Und was an einem SUV M Sport sein soll; da liegt wohl eine Irrtum beim Konzept vor. Aber solange es sich ein aufgemotztes Hochsitzauto verkauft….
