So agreed about making sure reading and Booktube are fun for you rather than a source of stress! And letting go of goals to just pursue your moods in reading is such a great idea.

I discovered you in 2023. I follow a lot of book-tubers and you are by far my favorite. Every time you post a new video it brings a smile to my face. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Happy 2024!

That was me all of 2023: no goals, just vibes, and I’m taking that into 2024 and beyond.

I've just started Helm of Midnight because of your channel! I'm very excited for it. I'm trying to go into '24 with very lax goals myself, but still some. My focus isn't on quantity or anything too strict, but I want to diversify my reading even more than last year. I'm not yet solid on what that will look practically, like if I'll set actual hard numbers of goals, or if it's just going to be a conscious effort to include diversity in every library haul.

Just vibes is a good "goal" :)

The only goal I've for 2024 is to read from my existing tbr and only try to buy books that I feel that I'm going to read in like two months, and find the slow and steady reading pace and not, like you said, stress about the books I read cause' I have other books that I "need" to prioritize!

Great reading year and great goals! I’m keeping it low key this year as well. Going for stress free reading. What happens happens. I just want o enjoy the experience. Happy New Year Tori! I do small challenges every month just to keep it interesting. I loved The Last Watch and read the 2nd book. I hope there will be more books bc I feel like it's not over. So glad you read The Priory of the Orange Tree. Such an awesome book! I love your content and look forward to seeing what you read in 2024.

I love that you, too, are giving up on goals this year! I had SO many goals lined up for 2024 and then realized the most important, valuable goal I could make for 2024 is to not set any goals 😂. 2023 was so rough for me and my family, so being gentle with myself and not striving towards anything is, I think, going to be the most healthy thing for me! I have loooooved these end of year videos! I like everyone's but I don't know what you do differently, yours are just so freaking fun 😂. Happy New Year! ❤️

Happy new year to you!! I use Goodreads, and it automatically does a “year in review” with stats, if you’ve been adding your books to your read shelf throughout the year

Do you count audio books? Or are you reading actual books/ebooks.

Audiobooks are reading, so yes I’d count them, but I personally don’t listen to audiobooks unless I want to re-read something. This year I read everything physically except for Starsight, which I went back and forth between audiobook/physical

@@ToriMorrow oh! I do listen to audiobooks but I never count them as reading. I just discovered book tube a couple months ago and I was wondering how people were “reading”a 100 books a year. Then I saw a Reddit group talking about the same thing and mentioned audiobooks. Then I kinda figured out how they were doing it. Either way, thanks for the channel! I guess my perspective on reading is a little traditional or maybe old fashioned. 😆
