This is a review done with FIG front videos. Judges's scores are competition's scores (done live). Mine are not challenging them.
Even if I can be more accurate in some ways, I know I am never 100% objective and right... I'm not superhuman and I am open to critics.

    𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 (after Q&A 2024 world cup judges instructions) 5:21 & 15:57 After clarification from the TC, it is possible to have a valid a transmission if the apparatus already crossed a body part, no need for 2nd hand to touch the apparatus. However, it looks like the hoop hasn't even crossed the neck part when the heal is down. No change of score. Just in time before the 2024 fully take off (I hope)...! Ball, clubs, ribbon and 5 hoops finals reviews are coming out very soon :) -> I tried a new format, I hope you'll like it ; don't hesitate to bring critics (is it good? is it bad?can't read, too quick, too much information at once... etc) -> I feel like a broken record saying this but: this is a video review, so obviously the scores are going to be much lower than official scores and somtimes much harsher. It's kind of like a different reality, not absolute truth about what should have been. -> I hesitated heavily for Fanni Pigniczki and Sofia Raffaeli character penalty, before decided to be quite harsh, in my opinion, with a 0.3 penalty. They are both close enough for a 0.0, being far above everyone in that area. I am also torn apart about putting an expression penalty for Vedeneeva (although the final result is not affected by it). What do you think ? ❤Thanks to my 3 patreons who keep sticking to me all those months despite me not posting anything. But now here I am! incredible format, i love it! it must've taken a very long time to edit. i see the major difference between darja's official score is her 2 missed risks with incomplete rotations. she should try to do 3 under the throw to be safe so the whole risk is not invalidated. personally i also would've penalized more missed artistic connections from her but that is very subjective. your eyes are very sharp to catch her incomplete roll at 12:46!

    This probably looks like the kind of system we should use to judge during competitions (with open to public livescoring) and to teach judges how to judge with extreme precision. I am very amazed at how well this reflects reality and still how playfully the format is. This is AMAZING.

    I'm so gald the format is has pleasing as it was for me to make!! For Varfolomeev risk, I have to be honest with this one: it took me time to actually realise 2 rotations under the flight weren't there, because I was so used to see it as a regular 0.7 risk, no question. Mistakes sometimes come from not questioning certain habits. For which connections would you have penalized, I'm always open to refresh my eyes ? And my 'eyes' have a very strong zoom and slow-motion included as option ;)

    Those leaps should just flat out invalidated in the vast majority of cases - poor positions and worse landings. Right in line with the mess of pivot exits and the relevés that are abandoned halfway during the balances that already don’t even last one complete second.

Which dance steps would you have not taken into account? Because taking the definition stricto sensu I see many as well... (Raffaeli 2nd with the roll between the legs, Vedeneeva kinda ?...)

  • @ClematisRGVideos

    @ClematisRGVideos

    2 ай бұрын

    I can understand. The angle can change much and sometimes, rotations angles can make everything look different. Plus, how to count full rotation is sometimes a bit loose by FIG (think cartwheel to vertical rotation, or like in Raffaeli's case in which she overlaps two rotations with different axis). So I agree I was quite harsh in here for Varfolomeev and Raffaeli. Removing 1.7 point from the routine make it indeed drop it a lot compare to other gymnasts with lesser risk problem. Otherwise this woul dcurrently place it in silver.

    Where do you see those effect, I'd be very curious ? I tend to avoid looking for effect in dance steps because the code says dance steps having dance steps matching the music is basic requirement, not something special (7.1.3.), but sometimes it's true that a moment stands out so much it's impossible not to see them as effect (I would take Kaleyn's ball 2nd dance steps for example). • @ClematisRGVideos

    @ClematisRGVideos

    2 ай бұрын

    Yes, I fear the mass of information would be overwhelming and pausing coul dbe quite annoying (is text duration not too short), I tried to reduced it as much as possible, while still being quite complete. So, thank you for clearing my concerns with it 😅 Yes, Varfolomeev and Vedeneeva are probably the one coming the closest (Vedeneeva even succeed it with that backscale in front of the carpet while catching that hoop!)...but the code says one second so 😔 But in the end, everyone is around 4-5 balances with -0.3, so it's not really a deal-breaker for the gymnasts in this review, even though the E-score are super low (which make it looks like the routine was riddled with mistakes!)

    I think it's a bit more complicated than that. Sure influence can happen (Artistry), but also, judging live just a limit that cannot be reduced: human body. I know it probably sound awful because in the end there are medals, results, money and funds for the gymnasts, but some judges cannot always do their best despite wanting to. I can't even with one video. Getting the most accurate scoring would means multiple camera angles and accurate system to measure elements (at least for Difficulty and a part of Execution). Which is not what we have so far, so obviously there is going to be mistakes (intentionnal or not).
