It's a quiet ride, but the new volvos suffer from stiff ride. This seems to be a common problem with Volvo S60 and Xc60 as well.

@@thedarkgreenvanman correct, but we are talking about the ride quality.

@@ubiased23 longer wheel bases are inherently more comfortable and an X5 is longer. I agree though Volvo comfort has gone to 💩 ever since they became a Chinese owned company. I’ve wondered if this is because they now design the seats for the Asian (shorter) market or if its cost cutting.

@thedarkgreenvanman that is no true my friend and it has nothing to do with the wheel base. The Chinese owned Volvo it is not involved in the decision process. They are simply financing Volvo but in the end they are taking the hands off approach. Volvo Cars still have comfortable seats. However, the ride quality has been stiff because they are trying to make their cars more sporty.

@@systemler44On average, all vehicles of 2023 are far less repair-friendly, and less reliable (mostly due to forced induction and emissions compliance) than those of 10-20 years ago. Especially with Volvos. Do you have any idea how complex this specific system is?

No one nowadays buy cars to keep for 10-15 years anymore, they aren’t built like that now. Usually people trade their cars in every couple of years instead of keeping it once paid off…
