    Just bought the 23 95tis for my upgrade beyond my beginner/intermediate setup for out in Montana! Definitely needed far more versatility than my 76mm waist setup. This video just confirmed my decision 10 fold! Thanks a bunch! Can't flipping wait for the 22/23 season!

    Maverick has the Best power to weight ratio of any ski I've been on. No weaknesses other than deep powder (I assume). I never found the speed limit on it. I have skied $1000+ Kastle MXs as my daily driver for a number of seasons and I was still very impressed with this ski. The Maverick doesn't get the attention it deserves. More people should be on these.

    Have skiied the Maverick 88 and found that it gets quite unstable even at moderate speed when terrain varies. Was almost thrown off of it several times when my weight skewed even slightly too far towards the back. Loved the ski otherwise but that weight aspect was a deal-breaker. Am guessing you're talking about the Maverick 95 which seems to be much more of the ideal width for this ski design as I'm hearing nothing but great reviews. The 88 reviews are a bit more mixed.

    @J M good to know. Haven't been on the 88. I skied the 95 in Tahoe in good conditions. I haven't tried it on east coast hard pack. That's my true test! I ended up buying another pair of Kastles. Once you buy a $1500 premium ski, it's hard to go back! I ruined myself for all future purchases 🤣. Kastle MX 88 won't chatter. Give them a try

    I have the Ti 100, only issue I have is that they don't come in a longer length. They are super light and playful, carve amazing, best mogul ski I have been on, great for jumping, and great for trees. The Maverick Ti 100 is probably the best single ski quiver out there.

    I have the volkl mantra m5 and the atomic vantage 100 cti as my daily drivers. I just put my Atomic Rituals up for sale. I didn't like the newer vantages, too light, stiff and pingy in firm snow. I just grabbed an enforcer 88 thats chomping for top spot as my main ski. I'll have to give the mavericks a try. I felt it when you said "gawd can it rails turns mmmmmm."

    Hey thanks for this...I was looking at the Volkl Kendo 88 and Enforcer 88 but this has got me thinking...I am an east coast advanced skier ...stayed away from the Enforcer 94 because of the stiffness and weight...how would you compare this Maverick 95 to the Enforcer 88 or Kendo 88? I primarily spend my time on groomers but like the crudier days and when we get some powder ( which isn't too often !) thanks !

    Wish I had seen your Maverick 95 comparison with the Declivity 92 before buying last year. I bought the Declivity 92 first and it was too much ski for me, even though I am a decent intermediate; An Alta, Utah skier. If you get in the backseat, this ski will punish you and it doesn't like slow turns. The Maverick won't punish you for anything. Declivity wants to go fast while the Maverick likes to go whatever speed you are going. No problem going off piste while the Declivity tends to sink in unless you lean back and keep the tips up. I think most intermediate skiers will find the Maverick easier to ride.

    Hi! Great video and comparison. Doing great on the videos. I am a beginner - intermediate skier, 197cm (6’5) tall & weigh 95kg (209lb). Was thinking of getting the Maverick 95 on the largest size (187 IIRC?), would you recommend I buy these or look for something else?

  • @TheSkiMonster

    @TheSkiMonster

    @matt, the Maverick 95 is a seriously versatile ski. If you are looking to truly get into a little bit of everything its really hard to go wrong here. The 188cm seems like a good move for your height and weight.

    Great comparison!. I have Mantra 5 but not with dedicated griffon 13id, bur duke edp18 pro. It change this ski completely. It make the ski stable, powerfol, like very good GS. Also freeride is more perfect. It is really great ski. But M6 can be even better. Maybe you can advise for my next update i plan. From 2016 I came back to Volkls skis after many years of having Atomic. Best ski ever for me are Volkl SL Master, that was bought last year. Now I need to update my Volkl GS Pro 2019, add I have doubts, and no posibility to test both skis. What would you choose. Volkl GS Master 2023 or Atomic G9 Revo 2023 . Both over 180cm. Have you compared it? What is your recommendation?

    Thanks George, that was very informative. I am 177cm (5'10) and I weigh 75kg (165lb) and I am thinking about getting the Atomic Maverick 95 ski's. I am quite an advanced skier and I like my jumps and quick turns, but I also enjoy skiing through the powder. Would you recommend me to buy these? And if so, would you say the 172cm or the 180cm is better for me?

  • @TheSkiMonster

    @TheSkiMonster

    @Jasper van kippersluis, Maverick 95 is a great ski. At 5'10 and on the more advanced end of the spectrum, you should go 180cm. Tons of versatility and a powerful feel underfoot.

    Great Video! I am 5’ 10” @ 200lbs - looking to buy the 2023 Atomic Maverick 95ti - I am 45 years old (intermediate skier) i ski 80% groomers and the occasional off trail out in the west coast. I am stuck between what length to get - these skis only come in 172 (forehead height) or 180 just a little over my height. I am not an aggressive skier and I do like the occasional speed and steep black diamonds I rented 180 last year and struggled a bit on them, for my weight and height will the 172 be ok? I don’t want to regret my decision, on paper the 172 seem to be ok after looking at several charts on the web.

  • @TheSkiMonster

    @TheSkiMonster

    Жыл бұрын

    @joeblue7, since you are 177cm tall you are right that you are between sizes. You might like the 180s for fast groomer days but prefer the 172 when you are tired or trying to tackle stuff off trail. Since you have tried the 180 and felt that they were a bit much it seems to make sense that the 172 will work great. Go longer if you have a need for speed and value stability, go shorter if you value control in tight spots and don't need to go top speed all the time.

    just purchased the M6... have not been skiing since 87 in Nevada...grew up in Alaska skiing 210 cm and longer... mostly K2 comp 5 and winter heat models with look Nevada bindings... I'm very aggressive fall line bomber loving lotta air.. question... very interested in the look pivot... that being said... what does size imply before ordering..95cm..115cm...130cm..etc?? 😊

  • @TheSkiMonster

    @TheSkiMonster

    Жыл бұрын

    @Rodney Tolbert, that size is in mm and its referring to the brake width. The M6 is 96mm so if they were my skis I would put a 95mm pivot on there.

    @@TheSkiMonster ...wow I kinda thought that but I grew up with binding leashes 😂.. okay bro...So I am 6'2" 220 pds.. like a said I am a old down hill racer and speed demon.. what DIN do I want with the look?

  • @TheSkiMonster

    @TheSkiMonster

    Жыл бұрын

    @Rodney Tolbert, the DIN setting is based on height, weight, age, skier type, and boot sole length. Most that are 6'2" 220 will be set to 7, 8, or 9. You want to be in the middle of the bindings range so that means the 12 or 14 is likely the right choice. If you usually crank your dins to 10+, it would be better to consider the 15 or 18 pivot.

  • @TheSkiMonster

    @TheSkiMonster

    Жыл бұрын

    @Mauricio Miranda-Alvarez, Maverick will be more precise, powerful and stable at higher speeds while the Ranger is more playful, nimble and maneuverable off piste. Go Maverick if you want a ski that charges hard on groomers but can handle a wide variety of terrain. Go Ranger if you want a ski that’s a breeze through the trees or more technical terrain but can hold its own on hardpack.
