Now that the Leia Lume Pad 2 is coming out, we'll be able to view the 3d content without any glasses. It would be really cool to have a QooCam Studio for Lume Pad.

Nice to get the autofocus and stabilisation. I mainly use the Ego for photography however so I hope they're going to get around to adding the DNG format that was listed as a feature at launch - I think we've waited long enough for this by now.

Still not support RAW\DNG and WB\EXP lock.

To touch the screen to get object in focus in AF mode does not make sense and it seems it costed me dearly because not knowing about it it changed focus and remembered it even after poweroff !!! I lost the valuable footage of the whole day efforts hiking while I could not recognize in small display that my videos are severely out of focus ! The object in the center of the screen should be a source of focus fixing, you would need just press some button and not the screen because you can check quality of your focus only by viewing it by the viewer.

The webcam feature is nice. I just wish we have exposure lock or manual exposure and I'd be happy.

QooCam Studio for Mac? Where can I get it for the M-CPU?

The QooCam EGO is a great camera! The 3D video is excellent. But it has a 65mm stereo base, so why do you program it to focus closer than your lens separation will allow? You can't get a useable stereo image that close. You need to be at least 3.5 feet from an object to use the camera in stereo.

I’ve just started to experiment with the Ego and that was one of my first questions! It can focus WAY too close to the camera! I didn't and don’t understand why.

@@sciencecomedian The reason is because a stereo camera's lenses don't "toe in" like our eyes do when we look at something close. Because the lenses are on the same plane, and set at the average human eye separation (65mm) the images captured of objects closer than about 3.5 feet are too different, too much disparity. Essentially there is little overlap between them for objects that close. Your brain can't make sense of it. To take a stereo photo of something close you have to either toe in the lenses and have a shallow depth of field, or move the lenses closer together. The camera can not do those things so it shouldn't be programed to focus closer than 3.5 feet, unless you just want to use one side of the stereo pair as a 2D image.

Thank you. I also try EGO in various modes, mainly for video shooting. It is not entirely clear how to use it for macro photography, given the invariability of the stereobase between 65mm lenses. For close objects, this is too much and causes very unpleasant sensations in stereo viewing.

Autofocus is a great addition. Now improve the audio, then this little camera will be truly great!

I just wish they would give us a vr 180 8k camera

Footage shot with it looks FANTASTIC on my 3D capable PROJECTOR. 3D is awesome!

what is the name of the 3D compatible projector?

does it support 24fps? Reviews haven't been that great on this. I just ordered another two GoPro Hero 3 Plus black cameras and a 3d case. I'll have 3 sets of those now. You can shoot 2.7k 24 fps natively either in wide or medium field of view. For a small 3D camera they're pretty nice and I haven't had any issues with them.

a dumb question but how does that orange strap attach to bottom of camera? I am looking but there is no hook?

The KZread Metadata Injector has no download buttons on the website 🙄😱🤔 also if I use this option in the QooCam Studio when exporting, the uploaded video won't be 3D in desktop browsers, only on mobile 🤔

I wish the QooCam Studio would have an option for Side-By-Side Crossview (reverse parallel) mode. I use crossview to view all stereo images including videos directly. I don't use goggles.

I updated to the latest firmware and there's no autofocus feature what gives?

I took my EGO outside for the first time with the new firmware. Although the auto focus appeared to be working in the field, it was a different story when I viewed the results in my VR headset - where screen size allowed me to better evaluate the results. I estimate that 25% to 30% of my pictures were out of focus! The EGO appeared to be focusing at a shorter distance than the point where I tapped the EGO screen in those out of focus pictures. IMHO, I’ve had better results in the past using manual focus. Also, the video clips I took were not stabilized; but I admit I did not go into to settings to see if stabilization needed to be enabled in the firmware. So the lack of stabilization could be my fault. I need to see if there is on/off setting in the firmware.

The stabilisation is applied after recording and can be applied to videos shot before the update too. If you switch to view gallery on the camera, and on a video file press the menu button at the bottom right of the screen there's an option for anti shake, it creates a new file of the stabilised recording and the original is kept too.

I had returned mine last year….low battery life, heat issues, among other issues. Unless those issues addressed, still a bad choice.
