I'm not really ready for the NYC Half this year either, but this is my fourth time in this race, and I love love love it so much that I am going to tough it out, prepared or not! If you're not in great shape, then just go v-e-r-y easy on those three steep hills in the first half of the race, to conserve energy for the second half. The hills in the second half are more gradual. You will love this race, even if you're not ready! Good luck!
Such a badass course! Cannot wait...
I'm nervous but I'm excited as well. Hope it's not gonna be freezing that day

You will love the NYC Half, even if you "guess" you want to "goooo." LOL. In fact, I better get to bed now because I'm also in this race, for my fourth time. I love this race. Brandon, you will love it too!
how do I get this song on my running playlist?

It would be awesome to time your playlist so that this song plays as you are finishing the race

The track is titled “Fragments” by Lux-Inspira.
The soundtrack of this video sounds so much like the Attack on Titan OST 🤣
what software is used to create such an animatioon
I'm tired from just watching this video.

Be classy -- this is a classy race -- not necessary to use the word "shit" about a classy race. Don't you have enough education or class to describe our beloved race in higher-class terms than this?
Bizarre course. I think it was better when it started in Central Park and ended in lower Manhattan.

No no no -- this course is MUCH better than the old course that ended in lower Manhattan. They had all the lower Manhattan residents complaining about all the street closures and giving NYRR a hard time -- finishing in Central Park avoids all the fights with the residents, plus this course is EPIC!!! This course is fabulous. I have done both the old course and this one -- trust me -- this IS "the one to run" as NYRR calls it.

@@cathynewyork7918 I guess you can say there are pros and cons to both, but as far as street closures, I happen to know that residents complain about the TCS NYC Marathon closing some main thoroughfares throughout the boroughs and all the noise with certain musicians and crowds. So I am sure that the new route for the United Airlines NYC Half must displease certain people of certain neighborhoods. It goes through 42nd Street from East Side to 7th Avenue meaning that the cross town buses there are stagnated for the morning into afternoon at least. It is a major crosstown bus route and anyone who is traveling to or from Grand Central especially from a long distance, will have problems. As a spectator I have seen it. Also, when the new course was about two or three years old, I was at the Central Park area and the traffic jams there were horrific with lots of exiting runners and certain streets closed off etc. One good thing is that the train station is near by and there are different trains that certain runners can catch to go back to other boroughs. But also certain trains may not be stopping there as usual because of the crowds. I actually think that given enough time the course will change again.
NO FOCUS ON BLACK COMMUNITY? The New York Road Runners Club is known around the world. Jogging and running are great for physical and mental health. But you seem to be doing no research, marketing, or publicity to the black community that has the best runners and simultaneously has disproportionate ill health, bad diets, and mental health problems. Why is the Road Runners Club not doing known community outreach to black communities in New York? Don't make the New York Road Runners Club simply a club for white people to stay in shape, exercise, mingle, jog, and run to health and success.
