I bought this reel last week from Digitaka and used this code NK5, but did not get any discount.

Digitaka is awesome and even sweeter with your coupon codes. I ordered a Vanguard 3000 a few weeks ago and it showed up at my door in 2 days!!!! Also saved close to $60 bucks compared to prices here in the states. Would have never been aware of them without your channel.

I can't believe they have a BFS Calcutta reel. Like it's a power reel so it's really interesting to see this reel for BFS applications. It's just so interesting.

Hopefully you'll be doing a Daiwa SS Air review soon. That reel looks like it's something next level.

I have 2 of the CQ17s... lovely reels. I find them comfortable to palm actually. Maybe I have large hands... 😉 I may get the new one. But I still haven't taken the 2nd reel out and spooled it with line... Still a virgin reel. The other has already caught lots of Peacock Bass and Snakeheads for me.

You definitely should try out this new generation. It’s more designed for smaller lures. A huge improvement from previous Gen.

Looks pretty interesting for a round reel. Have you thought of getting the Daiwa Silver Wolf or the SS Air? I think the silver wolf would be perfect for your type of fishing offshore. That's what it was made for, It's a PE reel. It would be cool to see you review one of those reels if not both 👍🏼

My next reel. Calcuttas are my favorite reels of all time. I still have and use my OG 92 Calcutta 151b. They are tanks and will last forever.

i own the 23cq…only complaint is the spool frame is too small now to pick at birdsnest…otherwise this reel is one of the best bfs reel i own.

Hello, I got my Conquest BFS 23 this week. I am wondering what pound test you are using on your Conquest BFS 23 and if you are using braid or mono or flouro. I spooled 10lb, 2 lb diameter mono Power Pro Superslick 8. I'm not sure if this is the perfect line for this reel. It seems the line "jumps" when casting at times. I am thinking of jumping to 15lb braid that is 4lb diameter mono. Would going up to 15lb braid be okay to use on the Conquest BFS?

Hi, I just got the Conquest BFS yesterday. Can you confirm for me please, the magnetic brake dial; is it suppose to click or not click. I know the star drag and spool tension knob clicks. That's odd that the magentic brake dial doesn't click to show/feel the braking is to get stronger.

So this reel can be used in Saltwater? No rust issues?

Is it same performance as the aldebaran bfs 22?

I owned this new 23 version and the previous generation as well; i like them both, but the new is much smaller and palm comfortably in my opinion

I guess it all comes down to personnel preference. The specs on the Calcutta and 22 Aldebaran are very similar. The only differences are, the Calcutta has a slightly wider spool and is heavier then the Aldebaran. The Calcutta BFS however is one sexy looking reel. :)

Which Suppressor are you pairing with the Conquest? Reason I ask is the UltraLight rated 4-6lb and the Light rated 4-10lb the suggested Varivas 1-1.2 braid is rated over 20lb. Is that too heavy? I am getting ready to get this combo. Great Content RX.

Ultralight Suppressor. Varivas 1 or 1.2 is a perfect combo. You’ll throw finesse lures all day with this setup.

Every unboxing I've watched has had different packaging. You didn't get the foam plastic on yours, some others got crinkly plastic over theirs, but your box had internal sections to secure the reel which I'm yet to see on any other unboxing. Very odd - I feel like they panicked in releasing this reel to the public and may be phasing their packaging plan.

Mine came with no bag, but cardboard spacers like in the video. I was surprised.

Absolutely gorgeous reel, but not for me, I fish for trophy size river and lake striped bass, and these reels just don't have the line capacity or enuff drag for those monsters. Too bad shimano don't make a 500 size with a beefed up 30 lbs of drag and line capacity.

im confused by the bias nature of unboxing. i just watched the unboxing of the KK zephyr and you said it was cheap because it was cardboard, but then you say this is nice and its cardboard...

Taste is personal. That said, i find this reel to be fugly. I have smaller hands and so I’m already expecting it to be uncomfortable. Used regular Calcutta in the past and I’m not a fan.

So it’s round purely for looks? If so, it’s ridiculous! WTF would you wanna hold that all day rather than a palmable?
