Watercraft Zone is a website about Jet Skis and personal watercraft.
We cover news, reviews, advice on Jet Skis and personal watercraft - on Sea-Doo, Yamaha, Kawasaki and others - and lifestyle aspects of the sport.
Based in Australia, Watercraft Zone is a website to help buyers make informed decisions when choosing a Jet Ski or personal watercraft.
There are three main brands - Sea-Doo, Yamaha and Kawasaki - and each is well represented across the country.
Each brand of watercraft has its fair share of pros and cons - and they all have a loyal and passionate fan base.
This website aims to outline some of the differences across all three brands, to help buyers - particularly those who are new to the sport - when it comes to choosing a Jet Ski or personal watercraft.
Watercraft tested on this website are provided by Sea-Doo, Yamaha, Kawasaki, as well as dealers who represent those brands. Sometimes we borrow a brand-new model - in standard condition - owned by a member of the Jet Ski community. Regardless of how we source each watercraft, we review them honestly.
Demonstrator models are returned after we’ve tested them, usually after a day or a weekend, although sometimes we test them for extended periods. We also buy our own personal watercraft, to get an insight into their longevity.
We access technical information from trusted experts in the industry, who specialise in a particular brand - or who have worked on all three brands during their time in the sport.
While there is a lot of passion in the PWC community - and each brand has a strong following - we aim to report without fear or favour.
We have done countless hours on Yamaha, Sea-Doo and Kawasaki Jet Skis and found each brand has unique appeal. You can read about some of the pros and cons here.
watercraftzone.com.au/myth-bu...
Suffice to say, there is a lot to like about each brand of personal watercraft - but your choice will depend on your needs.
At last count, there were 37 models across three companies - Sea-Doo, Yamaha and Kawasaki. There is a personal watercraft to suit everyone.
We chose the name Watercraft Zone so we could include all brands - and leave room for new types of personal watercraft.
You can read about the evolution of personal watercraft, its inventor, and the Jet Ski name here.

Good luck in your search for a new Jet Ski or personal watercraft, and please let us know what else you would like to see on the site: info@watercraftzone.com.au.

They said the 85 Apex ski's destined for Australia were already spoken for but get on the phone to dealers to check availability, well if they were already spoken for why should I call to check stock availability? makes no sense. I was down at the dealer yesterday (2 days after this video was released) and even they didn't know when and how many Apex ski's they can get. So it seems to me the claims made in this video aren't congruent with what the dealers know.

Thanks for your feedback. That information we published was based on interviews with Australia's biggest Sea-Doo dealers in Utah for the unveiling of the 2023 Sea-Doo line-up. Most Australian dealers we spoke with (over the phone while they were on the conference centre floor) said they had sold out, others said they had one or two unsold from their allocation. There is also the possibility some deals may fall over, which could open up availability. For now, we have been told only 85 Apex editions are coming to Australia. This could change if demand in Australia is sky high, and there is spare capacity if another country does not take all of their allocation.

rxt x is more like racing, performance. Light weight and hard handling. gtx is also fast, but not as rxt x, its heavier because it has suspension which provides soft riding

If you're riding in the ocean, the larger Sea-Doo ST3 platform is the way to go. If you're talking about the 2022/2023 models, you are choosing between two supercharged versions on the same ST3 platform. So they will ride the same, have the same 300hp motor, and have the exact same top deck and storage etc. The main differences (apart from colour and trim): the RXT-X has launch control and the Limited does not. Choose the colour combination you prefer. Hope this helps, apologies for the delayed reply.

I hear you, but Jet Ski has become a generic term over the past decade or so. We use Yamaha WaveRunner and Sea-Doo watercraft and Kawasaki Jet Ski when we have them together in one story. However, when terms such as "personal watercraft" are used in isolation, not everyone knows what that means. Even the TV news has picked up Jet Ski as a generic term. Thanks for sharing. Hope you understand where we're coming from.

WHAT!? 26 to 30k for a freaking seadoo that at most hold 3 people uncomfortably bahahahahahaha! No f@#$ing way are they worth that. You cam buy a boat for that and you and your family/friends can go explore in something that doesnt look like a Honda gullwing and a snow mobile had a baby lmao!! Absolutely not worth it. Oh a boat can't go in water like a pwc can? Well there are plenty of boat manufacturers that have jet drives in the boat line up.

Now that Yamaha WaveRunner and Kawasaki Jet Ski have released 2023 prices for Australia, it's worth noting all three mainstream personal watercraft brands now have models that eclipse $30,000. They're certainly getting up there in price, but they also have more tech than before.

Consumer determines the price, please use all this outrage and energy to study how costs are set in supply and demand principles so you don’t make a fool of yourself. These toys are not for everyone, when you’ll bring enough value to the market be compensated 30k a week, in 5 days you can get a ski. Not so expensive then, is it? I wouldn’t want broke folks with 300hp on the water around me. They broke for a reason.

Well some of us have “lazy “ teenagers ! When you trailer the boat home and it’s time to rinse it and pack away. A SeaDoo is so much easier than a boat ! The teenagers disappear… I can handle this on my own.

That argument comes up a lot (especially given the recent price rises), though Jet Skis are still handy when it comes to shallow water, low-speed manoeuvring, and storage of the craft when it is off the water.
