Haha yeah it's fun to tryhard micro stalkers sometimes, but I don't like players feeling like they HAVE to do that to succeed

On the note of learning: Something we talk a lot in the competitive shooting community is process focus vs outcome focus. Outcome focus in this context would be something like mastering one build just to get to masters. A process focused person wouldn't be afraid to drop some MMR in order to learn something new and be a better all around player. The outcome person might reach a goal faster, but the process focused person is usually going to get there as a more well-rounded player. Both are legitimate approaches depending on your goals and priorities, but if you're truly focused on being the best competitor that you can be then the process focus is going to create an overall better player. The saying I like to use is "stay focused on the process, and the outcome is inevitable."

Pig, I just want to say thank you for getting me to enjoy StarCraft again. specifically, your thoughts on mentality! of course your builds have helped me immensely but more so than anything you have flipped my mentality to a positive one. I used to care so much about losing that it held me back from progress...I am a professional musician and now i relate SC to mastering an instrument. When i sit down to practice or compose music, I don't think about winning or losing, I don't judge myself because I cant play an extremely hard passage immediately or if it takes a long time to learn it. i just sit down, do the work and it happens. the difference with music is that when i learn something new, im not doing it on stage. in 1V1 you are kind of on a stage so you MUST detach yourself from losing to ever master anything valuable. Changing from an outcome based mentality to a PROCESS based mentality has improved my life in all areas not just SC... If you want a nice body but you don't enjoy going to the gym 5 times a week, is a nice body a realistic goal? and if you did somehow willpower yourself to a nice body but still hated going to the gym every day, what kind of life would that be? I've been coming back to this game for 14 years so with your help i realized its about time i REALLY learned how to play and not just how to squeeze out wins. Paradoxically, not caring about winning or losing and only focusing on improving has made my win rate go up substantially. Thanks again for all the years of casting and teaching!
