I have never related to a planner video more. The "no no no!!" as I inevitably mess up and try to fix it, the struggle over embracing my artistic side, not having the prettiest handwriting but just going with it... Honestly, watching this made me feel like I finally found a friend who *got it* and understood. So please please please do make more planner content!

The chaos speaks to me on a personal level. We need more journalling videos like this, all the super artistic setups that take 3-5 workdays to make are just not realistic for a lot of people and only end in frustration while this works just as well!

the spreads take forever, I am in awe of people that manage to do them because I could never😂😂😂 I’m sure there is a balance, but I have yet to find it in my lifestyle

This was actually really fun to watch. I am an artist, but I am also a lazy planner that likes things to be convenient because when I'm too artistic about things I become a perfectionist, so I'm trying to be more relaxed in my planners. It was fun to se a non artist perspective, also really excited about seeing the common planner. Thinking of getting the undated version but not sure. Also planning on using her planning kits to help with decorating. Thanks for sharing!

I started enjoying my planning process when i stopped being obsessed with the outcome. at the end of the day, i like it because its an outlet to destress myself creatively and manage my time in the best way for me. i think maybe get the half year of the sterling ink planner if you are on the fence? i also think its comparable to the hobonichi day free somewhat or the hobonichi techo (depending on what you want to use it for).

yes!! I’ve seen some people just scribble on the first page of journals to get the fear of ruining the notebook out of the way! (Unintentional plug) in the videos I uploaded after this one I talk about how my plans already changed for this planner and how that’s totally fine. At the end of the day these are all tools that we use to make our lives easier so we should make sure they work for us and not the other way around!

Love this!!! Basically my vibe with my planners is just pen and a neutral highlighter. I have tried to do other things to make it pretty, but even though it looks cute with stickers and stuff, it gets me overwhelmed. Sooo i love seeing people who just write and use their planners, and give functional tips of what is working for them.

I also feel like when i do too much and if i happen to mess up its harder for me to use the pages, vs something simple with maybe a highlighter (what neutral highlighters do you use now that i mention it) or a sticker is way more likely to inspire me to use it!

Glad you love yours too! I knew this planner was the one from the minute she first shared it. She has another RTS launch this month (this coming weekend - 9th and 10th) and then the undated with sticker kits which is amazing. I’ll be getting those too! Definitely don’t have to be an artist to have a pretty planner - or I don’t think so bc I think mine are all pretty. But of course function over decor 😊 great setup and plan!

Same! Not artistic at all and easily overwhelmed w stickers (maybe because I have too many from which to choose?). Really enjoyed this video and found it very helpful. The blank pages drive me bonkers, so this new year I am going w an undated daily for appts, days off, etc., and using a dot journal for the habit tracker, longer term like monthly 'get these things done', shows I want to watch, artists/songs I love, menu planning, etc. I anticipate it will be painful to have two books, but I just haven't been successful w buju but I am a planner. Hoping doing the undated (which is just keeping a calendar --- and I am going analog because I am trying to undigitize my life. I had beautiful print and cursive handwriting from all the years of parochial school but the fine motor skills and hand eye coordination have been lost on the keyboard. So not liking my handwriting is a huge obstacle for me w all this!! Happy New Year

I'm a very artistic person and I don't make my bujo/ planner artistic at all. The more simple the better. Anything decorative distracts me from my goals and tasks and makes my brain overwhelmed instantly.

The problem is that not all my goals require every single step... ...and this is me realizing I don't need to fill in every step if I don't want to. Okay neat, good talk. your vision board is sort of what i do if i mess up a page real bad. i get a lot of seed catalogues, and they're awesome for covering botched pages. ill find a page in the catalog that's mostly pictures of flowers and use the glue tape roller thing to paste them into my journal and so in stead of an ugly unused page its a collage of flowers or whatever.

omg seed catalogues sound like such a good place to get images from!! I sometimes would just stick the two pages together but this is a much better use of the pages 👏🏼👏🏼

@@nikkilpzs yeah, and the catalogues that come in the mail have very thin paper so it doesn't change how the pages in the notebook flip. So far I have a page of flowers and one that's a bunch of different grape varieties.

My planner / bullet journal is disgusting look with scratchy habdrwirryin and scribbles no straight lines Only line is in my yearly It is very functional and works super well for me coz its simple and easy to use and I dont feel pressure to mess up. qué emoción que encontraste este video jjajaja y bienvenida a la comunidad!! yo he visto videos de stationary por años y nunca me atrevía a filmar algo hasta ahora. el sterling ink planner es bello, pero si quieres uno con un layout similar te recomiendo el hobonochi day free! si vives en PR, yo ordeno mis productos de stationary (incluyendo los hobonichis) por jetpens.com y me llegan super rápido y usualmente salen mas económico que amazon!

I know! The grid paper looks very faint on camera, and I feel like could have made the video less expose so that you could see it better, but with the naked eye you can see the grid paper well. If you want, I can send you photos of the grid paper through Instagram!
