I never thought Angela Bassett had a chance ! She lost Bafta and then SAG ,that was the nail in her coffin! I was hoping Kerry Condon would win!

Yeah losing SAG was a big deal for Bassett. I’d have preferred her or really any of the other nominees over Curtis, but still happy for her

@@paulvoorhies8821 She's a far superior actress than the rest of the women in that category. For Everything Everywhere? Absolutely not, but she had been snubbed by the academy multiple times.

I love how people were saying "Austin Butler is winning. The Academy obviously loved the movie cause they gave it 8 nominations and they didn't like The Whale cause they didn't even give them screenplay and best picture nomintions." The Whale wins 2 oscars, Elvis wins 0. And honestly Elvis was not a good movie. So glad for Brendan Fraser. He truly deserved it.

@@OscarFilmForecast I agree. Those two films were not too good, but I was on the Fraser train the entire time. However I was expecting Elvis to win Costume Design and Makeup.

Babylon won every production design award not even the Baftas gave it to all Quiet,Can't believe they snubbed it

happy for the EEAAO crew but I kinda hated that it just won everything leaving so many great movies like Tar, Banshees, Babylon, and Fabelmans empty-handed. The Whale winning two while all those movies won zero makes that even worse.

Yeah I’m usually a fan of them spreading the love especially when there were so many great films, but if a film were to sweep - EEAAO is a good choice. Sad for TÁR getting nothing especially

I did tear up a little during Quan’s speech. But in general I think all the winners gave better speeches at SAG so I’m a little heartless I guess lol

I think that Ariana Debose might put an curse on Angela Bassett at The Baftas when she said Angela did the thing jk. I hope that Angela Bassett is nominated again for something else one day soon and she actually sweep all awards bodies when she is nominated again. Jamie Lee Curtis winning might not aged well in a few years from now. I am so happy for Brendan Fraser winning the Oscar. I was right about Halle Berry presenting the Oscar for best actress and the winner was Michelle Yeoh,what a full circle moment the first best actress winner of color give the Oscar to another actress of color so heartwarming

Yeah I’m really hoping Angela Bassett gets her time soon. I think it just came down to EEAAO being such a juggernaut that gave Curtis her win. I don’t think it’ll age well at all though. And yes the Michelle Yeoh and Halle Berry moment was beautiful!!

Rip butler your cause is not forgotten

Dude regardless of whether or not you like a film, you have to think logistically about who could win and the momentum. Brendan has had the momentum way before the Oscar ceremony. Don’t let bias cloud your judgement.
