    Thank you for your comment. I understand indeed Portugal is not as cheap as it was 5+ years ago, with this said I don't think anywhere is, life have become more expensive worldwide. It is important to note that Portugal is a big country and there is lots to chose from when it comes to lifestyle and budgets to live here, a couple can live very comfortable for under 2,000 Euros a month if choosing the right place to live.

    When compared to an average monthly income in Lisboa, it is the 3rd most expensive city in the world. Right after London and Rome. Average monthly net income in Lisbon is about 1000€. A normal person that wants to live in an apartment (not renting a room) needs about 2200€ to cover the month. So you loose 1200€ every month. After covid things here have become terrible

    @@livinginLisbonPortugal Yes it is an issue with the entire world. Yet in other countries it is not that drastic. Munich has similar rent prices but the average salary is 5 times higher. So the point of my comment remains valid, Lisbon is the 3rd most expensive city in the world compared by the average cost of living/average salary. Just google....

    Hello TL and thanks for your comment and for watching our channel. With our content we focus on exploring Lisbon and Portugal as a whole, at the moment no intention of showing houses in the videos as we get to the part individually when looking for homes with each of our clientes. We are happy to share the name of some of those Neighbourhood about 20 min out of of historial Lisbon and as to see what homes look like on your duster I recommend using the website Idealista Portugal to have a better idea, some of those neighbourhoods are Benfica, Alfragide, Odivelas, Lumiar and others.we hope this helps you look at some options. If you are serious about moving to Portugal and need assistance with relocating feel free to reach out to us. Thanks again for your comment.

    Those areas are very poorly served with transports, have no life after 7 PM (dormitories) and 80% of those areas are quite fishy, scary dangerous after 7PM, plus you will waste hours and hours and hours of your daily life commuting... Choose a tiny hole in the city instead of bigger homes in nasty suburbs

    Thank you very much for your question Murkey. Buildings with a full range of amenities are not the norm but are becoming more common, specially in areas like Avenidas Novas, Amoreiras, Arroios, and some new buildings in Estrela. You will not usually find these kind of amenities in older buildings. In a good area you can expect to pay between 20 to 30 Euros a month per m2. I hope this answer your question. I do have some videos coming up featuring some of Lisbon's best neighbourhoods, stay tuned. Are you panning a move to Lisbon? Where from?

  • @livinginLisbonPortugal

    @livinginLisbonPortugal

    Жыл бұрын

    Hello Murkey, we would love to hear more from you as to where you are planning to move from and if the information provided was helpful. The info provided on the previous message was rental prices of between 20-30 per m2 in premium Lisbon areas, if looking to purchase in these same areas, a new luxury apartment in central Lisbon with all amenities mentioned will start at around 7,000 Euros per m2 and that can go up to 12,000+ per m2. Lisbon is a city of neighbourhoods and you will be surprised how small and near one another they are, with this said places like Principe Real and Chiado will usually have the highest prices per m2 on new luxury projects, where places like Alcantara and Arroios will offer you better value per m2 on new luxury projects. There is something for everyone.

    Hello K H, as a rule of thumb the farthest you are from the historical center the more affordable it gets. One of the most central and cot efficient areas in my opinion is Benfica, but other such as Beato, Marvila and Odivelas also offer good good value. Across from the river you have Almada with lots of more affordable options. I hope this information helps. May I ask where it is you are planning to move from?

    Thank you for watching and for your comments Alan. Regarding the restaurant costs we also mentioned on the video one can eat well for 10 Euro, for those who enjoy Michelin starred restaurants they have options, but of course most people don't spent 400 at dinner, but it is amazing that the city have so many options to cater to all tastes and budgets, and for our personal private insurance you pat 10% if you need a surgery, and that is capped at 2500 Euro, one should look into their options before choosing an insurance provider, and lets not forget there is a good public health system available as well. Portugal is a beautiful country and it is a privilege to have the options we have here.
