What oil do you run? I’m running maxima pro plus 4 stroke full synthetic. Is that sufficient, or is there something better?

Can someone explain to me what a "heat cycle" is? (I do understand there's a riding break in period) I have a new 2023 KTM SX-F 350 arriving any day now. It's my first NEW bike so I'm a novice on breaking in a new MX engine and this heat cycle stuff. Is this something the dealer would do or is this the responsibility of the customer? Lastly, when a bike is on the showroom floor, what has it been through as far as testing and running the engine? Thanks!!! BTW, I've owned a bunch of 2 stroke KX 250's (late 90's) and they are beasts!!! I wish Kawasaki made a 350!

We can do a video on how to properly heat cycle your bike on the first start. Stay tuned. As for your other question, each dealer has a different process. You can about garuntee there has been no heat cycles on a bike in the show room. Usually you can just look at the header pipe and tell. Also, all manufacturers test the engines during the build process at some point.

Second, I'm guessing that if my bike isn't going to sit on the floor as it's basically going to be built and then delivered to me, they definitely will not have done any heat cycles. My understanding is the bike has been run fairly well (and as you said tested during build). Seeing a video on it would be great!!! Just found your channel, definitely subscribing and will follow. Thanks again for the information!

Unfortunately Kawasaki dose not allow that. It would be a huge safety concern.

@@DeepSouthKawasakiStrange have bought Hondas and Yamahas still in the box .... it's just way more fun plus I'm a collector......there is no warranty as they go directly to the track to race or immediately be torn down to mod
