I really love the look on the front end of that EV!!
It looks really fun to drive!
Love the wagon shape to it, if it was bit longer like an actual one it would be perfect
Man, that is a slick looking Kia!
It's interesting the way you have a POV cam because it gives a better sense of the way the particular vehicle drives.
So far, I'd buy this EV over the others simply because it has physical button controls!! It's also a sharp looking vehicle.

Wow this video is such good quality like seriously.
Interesting point that I found out recently from watching another KZreadr. I can confirm from driving my own GT that in ECO drive mode the power only goes to the rear wheels, except for initial starts from full stop, when the fronts also pull for a second or two to get the car off the line without tyre slip. BUT in i-pedal regenerative braking mode the car NEEDS BOTH MOTORS WORKING, so all the wheels can regen the car to a stop. So being in ECO and I-pedal puts the car at cross purposes, and I believe that because the four wheel regen is a safety feature, KIA HAVE SET THE CAR TO THE BEST SAFETY in those circumstances. I use i-pedal in towns and stop start traffic, and switch to level 3 regen whenever the speeds increase or the roads clear...

Usually when I like looking at a car this much (enough to stop & stare every time I see one) I end up owning one at some point, like with my Stinger a few years ago. Sadly an EV doesn't fit with my lifestyle at the moment - lots of long roadtrips to & through the middle of nowhere. Still happy this car exists & I get to see them

i really like this car but 200 mile range is a total deal breaker. Sacrificing range/efficiency for performance doesn't happen on some other brands.

It has 206 of REAL miles on highway (70-75Mph), with 21 inch wheel and sporty tyres. It has salmost 250miles for common driving (60Mph) and even more with 20 inch wheels with eco tyres.. but.. you bought GT version, to have fun.. however.. i would go for 20 inches wheels with eco tyre for winter...

I have one and it does way better than the EPA rating. Right now my car is at 80% charge and the projected range is 223 miles. The last time I charged to 100% the range was 276 miles - and the range projection is very accurate. If you drive in GT mode all the time with a heavy foot the range will suffer, but I find Normal mode plenty powerful. The occasional blast in GT mode is enough for me. The range has been an unexpected bonus.

I have a GT over here in the UK - I get around 280 miles range on typical 'one lane in each direction' roads, and on our motorways (Interstate in USA ?) around the same... that might sound strange, but over here the HGVs (Heavy Goods Vehicles = big trucks) are limited to 56 MPH, and I find it easy and relaxing to sit behind one matching speed via the adaptive cruise mode, and then you're getting slipstream as well... hence better mileage. Yes the journeys may take 5 or 10 minutes longer, but I arrive bright eyed and bushy tailed, and of course it's cheaper and needs less time recharging...

There is ALWAYS a trade off between range and performance, that’s just physics. The real world range is 200-250 miles winter-summer and in my experience (I’ve done 14,000 miles in mine) with the fast charging, it’s a non-issue. I’ve public charged maybe 8 times in a year, each taking 10-15 minutes, compared to the time saved not routinely visiting petrol stations to fill up every 3 days in my previous Porsche 911 that’s a huge overall time/ convenience saving.
I really love the format of these reviews and the consistency. Can you confirm what my headphones are telling me regarding Tesla, that their interiors are kinds just average in terms of low frequency cabin noise, and other EV makers are noticeably quieter?

Makes me excited for the GT1 when that comes to fruition.
Yeah, love the wagon-ness.
Any chance of sharing the engineer's suggested settings mentioned at 22:39? Want to replicate them on my GT. I already tracked mine and I agree it's a beast on the track.
Amazing, clicked on this video from another Topher vid lol! Stopped watching the Golf R review for the EV6
Guy at work bought one and parked it in the employee parking. I'm outside all day and it was far enough away I couldn't tell what it was but enough to see it was a sexy car. His is metallic silver grey whatever.
@11:58 I would’ve challenged that MYP on that straight 😂 Now bring on the I5N!
What an interesting car :)
I drove a couple of these, was ready to buy, it was perfect (almost). I had to pass because the angle of the steering wheel was so upright even in it’s fully down position. I’m 5'9 and could not get comfortable with the wheel in almost a van position. It would of bothered me every time I drove it! As a side note, I found it odd that there was a missed opportunity for KIA to put some kind of brand script on the fluorescent green calipers.😕

You must like it at a very weird angle then. I'm 1" taller than you and find it far from uncomfortable at a position that no person I've let drive my GT thought was uncomfortable.
SatNav is this TomTom? Greeting from Poland!
I wish they had options on the caliper and interior...you have to get the bright green...i wish they would just offer other colors so you dont have to cover them yourself
Kia and hyundai have come a long way
As bonkers the EV6 GT is, I think the smarter buy is still the regular EV6 GT-line AWD. It offers almost identical looks and its performance at 325hp isn't lacking, and the driving range on the GT-line is better than this full GT version. Also, it is almost $10k cheaper. The GT is fast in a straight line, but it isn't a BMW M car by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe it can give the i4 M50 a good tussle on the track, but it won't touch a true M3.

GT mean exactly what it means. The N means performance and top handling.
I can agree with this I’ve done 12,000 miles in mine and it’s an incredible car, really good value for what you get. My real world max range is 250 miles which is fine, but the killer is the fast charging, it really is as quick as KIA say and that’s a game changer. If you only need 18 minutes charge time every 200 miles (to allow a safety margin) then the range problem becomes a non issue in my experience. I even took mine to a track day when it was raining and I didn’t fancy driving my BAC Mono. It was brilliant fun! (There’s a video on my channel) KIA are doing great things these days (btw just arrived in Malta for a holiday and the rental company gave me a…KIA RIO,they must have known😂)

@@joumiron yes, 250 in Summer and 200 minimum in Winter. With the fast charging for the very few times I ever charge away from home is a non issue for me. If I regularly did long journeys I’d probably get the non GT version though, but for me the extra features of the GT are nice to have. The highway driving is very, very good, I’m a surgeon so often driving home in the early hours of the morning after a long stint in the OR, I feel much safer in this KIA. I’ve just done 14,000 miles, mine was one of the first UK cars so I was prepared for a few niggles in a new model as complex as this…nothing, not a single problem. That’s impressive. Oh, and I came across a Ferrari 812 Superfast yesterday, discovered that the KIA is faster😱🤣 It’s a fantastic car.

@@BAC_Mono thanks for the response! Will considere one! Its just that in canada we mostly have long highway and cold winter -20, -30 degres celsius so its really hard to not loose 40-50% of your autonomy in that cold and since the gt have a combined autonomy of 330km you get 200km in winter😂, even worse if you only do highway. Do you think its enough for me?
@BAC_Mono
7 ай бұрын
@@joumiron boy that’s cold! It depends whether the range suffers more at those temperatures than the -3 to 0 Celsius we typically get in the UK, I’m sorry I don’t know the answer to that. The absolute minimum range I get is 200 miles. When recharging, if you schedule the stops on the day nav it automatically warms the battery so when you arrive and plug in it should still charge very fast. Also the ability to have the car warm and defrosted before you get start in the morning is nice. It even seems to learn and will do this even if you forget to program it. I think k there’s some AI in the KIA app or something. Pilot Sport 4s’s also won’t like those temps much so you might be better off with the Non GT model?

@@BAC_Mono my mother has a bolt euv and she loose another 10% maybe by decreasig from 0 to -20C. But the prewarming battery will help. Also we have the obligation to put fully winter tire (no 4 season tire) from 1 december to 15 march so its no problem for the michelin.
Wowww wtf, this is sick

It's no Tesla Plaid but for the price, it's pretty incredible what Kia/Hyundai can do. I've always thought that Kia/Hyundai made good cars, innovative designs and features, but they never picked up because their transmission was always horrible. Now that everything is heading towards EV, that's no longer an issue for them, making them all of a sudden one of the best EV brands.

The MYP is definitely not as quick as the EV6 GT and the Tesla struggles to get close to the EPA rating. I have an EV6 GT and it crushes the EPA rating. My overall efficiency on 1100 miles of driving is 3.8 miles/ kWh which equals roughly 280 miles of range. Plus, imho, the interior of the EV6 blows away the spartan interior of the Tesla.

That Volvo semi you passed at 13:30 moved over to pass the slower vehicle in front of it (Accord with a space-saver spare tire on the front).. and then you demonstrated the regen in front of him 13:57 causing him to brake and fall back in behind the slow car again. I know it's really hard to drive well and talk about a product at the same time. This was a very rare misstep by you, Chris. I'm impressed that Kia/Hyundai seem to be the only pouch-battery EV-makers that haven't had to do massive recalls and seem to have thermal management under control. I'm really hoping they step up with pet and camping modes like Tesla and Rivian have.
