I've owned 54 bikes over my last 50+ years of riding, my 23 N1K is my favorite bike of all time. The OEM touring windscreen is way better than the puig in my mind and a definite improvement over stock as well. I've lightened the bike by close to 10-12 lbs with a sergeant seat and removing unnecessary crap. Lost the ugly bazooka silencer as well with a nice carbon slip on. You chose wisely in my book for sure. Less vibration in the N1K is nice too. Mine now has 10,000 miles on it and I'm loving it! Just back from a 2000 mile Colorado and Utah trip last week. The OEM saddlebags were great too, haven't had that luxury since my 2001 goldwing and 2008 FJR, but got tired of overweight bikes. Your review is spot on and you hit all the reasons I like this bike. The Michelin Road 5's are a great add as well. The second favorite is my Z900RS cafe with an Akrapovic header and stock silencer with an Ivan's magical flash and michelin road 5's, which I still own. It now weighs in at 445lbs wet. But my ninja is still the fave. Reminds me of my 97 ZX11 that I put 78,000 miles on over many years of ownership. The N1K is just so much more comfortable for a day in the saddle!

thank you for detailed commentary! Some great suggestions there too. I’m definitely going get a different exhaust soon, and a seat is definitely on the list too! Good to know you are Sargent fan!

Hi, I have owned the Suzuki gsxs1000GT, I now have the Kawasaki 1000sx ninja , And your spot on the Kawasaki is a little more comfortable and more flickable, But the Suzuki does have the more powerful engine, and not as comfortable, and the brakes are not as good as the Kawasaki's , But I am glad I traded my Suzuki for the Kawasaki.

A 1000 Ninja was one of my dream bikes as a kid. You're rekindling that lust here!

I’ve come to read how great my ninja is. The ninja was my dream bike but having owned the gsxs1000f it is probably the more fun engine and sound. I like the more conservative look of the ninja, just me getting older probably.

I am so torn on these two bikes, the slightly lower seat height is appealing on the GT but the SX definatly has a more refined feel. Both great bikes. It will be interesting to see how you get on. One thing that I keep thinking is, possibly the rawness of the Susuki and the more sporty engine will make the bike have more charcter in the end. Wish Honda would do something similar with an updated V4.

The challenge is real for sure. I am still second-guessing myself, but the brakes and the lack of sensitive IMU were what really got me. Speaking of Honda, i wish they would start giving us the Moto's @themissendenflyer and all his mates get in Europe, like the NT110O Twin... www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/range/touring/nt1100/overview.html

I own the GT, my friend has the SX and I’ve ridden both a lot. SX- better brakes, suspension, tires, and smoother engine. GT- stronger top end, sounds better, quickshifter, TFT dash is better. The SX corners better but the GT is more stable at triple digit speeds. If your riding backroads and don’t rev out the bike get the sx. If your on the highway and like to rev it out, get the gt. Both are great, can’t go wrong

@@carterjoseph1475excellent insights. Totally agree. The GT engine is a peach! Argument for having both maybe?!!

@@carterjoseph1475 This is useful thanks. Probably more back lane blasts with the odd longer trip at a weekend and commute riding. There is something about the GT, its just a tad less sensible than the SX perhaps.
