    Really nice commentary, I hope Ella & Holyn keep doing these! Great to see Silva and Heidi both hanging in the top 10 at times.

    Great coverage as always these women are honestly what I strive to be right now in my disc golf game honestly learning way more from these throws than I ever would from the people throw in 70 mph lol

    Having played this course last year, and scoring a solid +8, seeing the FPO field play it was super-enjoyable! Great coverage and solid commentary all weekend. Keep up the stellar work!

    @33:50 How does dropping your disc not count as a stroke. In golf any swing at the ball counts as a stroke

    It is specifically stated in the rules that an accidental drop is not a practice throw. ”Official Rules of Disc Golf 809.03 Practice Throw A practice throw is any throw that is not made as a competitive attempt to change the lie, except for a throw that is made either to set aside an unused disc or to return a disc to a player and that travels less than five meters in the air. A drop is not a practice throw.”

    There needs to be more talk regarding the prize amounts for FPO .vs MPO. There's no reason 1st Place in FPO is taking home 32% less then 1st Place in MPO. This statement is coming from a male, and fact females are paid less in sports is bullshit.

  • @grippiedeuce

    @grippiedeuce

    Жыл бұрын

    No there doesn't. If the MPO is getting 2.5 x the amount of views, why is it so hard to see why they would be paid more? The FPO is still very top heavy. 14 strokes between 1 and 5 is insane. No parity. I bet you think the WNBA should be paid the same even though they only sell 1,000 tickets per game and no one watches? It has nothing to do with male/female, but with how much money you bring in.

  • @SJH22

    Supply and demand my guy. Put all of these women in the MPO and they get absolutely torched (obviously)....you don't pay people the same amount when they are way less skilled and sell way less merch/discs and also don't bring nearly as many to attend events....from a business standpoint, it would make zero sense.

    They also have far less players,and a high percentage of payouts come from entry fees, educate yourself and save some embarrassment.

    Good afternoon all you alpha males! I'm glad to have a conversation about this. Let's take a look at the PDGA prize breakdown. According to their website, the Pro Purse is $51,500. However, if you do the math (this might be hard for some of your men living in the 1930's still) MPO took home $26,285 and FPO took home $13,900. So first, tell me if that adds up to $51,500. I'll keep you from hurting your brain, as I know 'maths' most likely hurt for you, but no it does not. That means the FPO card took home 34.56% of the total prize pool at $40,185. Now let's talk about supply and demand. When you go to a disc golf event, are you paying to ONLY watch the MPO or ONLY watch the FPO? No, no your not. You're on the course for the day and can view it all. As far as sponsors go, they don't change the sponsors based on if the MPO is on the course, or the FPO is on the course. This has no impact to the prize pool money. That means the money the sponsors are spending go to all players/coverage. Are you telling me the MINIMAL amount of revenue MPO is making on KZread clicks, likes, and comments is giving the MPO that higher percentage in the overall prize pool? That answer is no. They're no where near those numbers. Example: Central Coast Disc Golf @ 128k subscribers. So why are their more men in these events than women? Even on the amount of money the men make at these events, it's hard to travel the US and play all these tournaments while not maintaining a second job to support themselves and also their families. Sure the top 10 can do it, but beyond that, it's not that easy. Take that into consideration for the women who are paid that much less. How many of them can actually do this full time without the assistance of sponsorships, because the tournaments short change the hell out of them. Some of you need to think about the bigger picture here. This isn't a direct comparison to the NBA, WNBA, and all other major league sports with men and women athletes. This sport is just getting its feet on the ground, and the men & women share the same "court" each day with no changes in sponsors or coverage. There's no reason their payouts shouldn't be fair. If we continue to live in a society that just allows this bias in sports, less and less women will peruse the chance with little-to-no payout.

    I disagree, the FPO eats up a bunch of the added cash in tournaments and are often 1/4 of the size of the field of MPO. AND they are often playing AM short pads while the men are playing the Longs

    Hole18 Repeated Incorrect Commentary as Ohn reaches the basket: "Look at Ohn, the bottom of the basket is a full foot above her head"....in my own (Ohn) personal measurement system, where I halucellate objects being at least 18-24" higher than they are in everyone else's lowly commoner reality. To me a 'full shoed foot' is what I prefer to be put in my mouth, when I start talking out my backside.
